Tesla Model S Out-Drags BMW M5 0-100 MPH

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvHTN0Yi1t4

Competing at the high end, the Model S actually looks viable:
Quote:
The magazine says the M5 used in the test carried a sticker price of $106,695 (after destination) and tipped the scales at 4,387 lbs (1,989kg), while the Model S was priced at $102,270 and weighed in at 4,640 lbs (2,105 kg).
This is the model with the 300 mile-range battery.

I'd still rather have an M5, but damn, that's impressive.

I don't know if this is a result of Tesla getting better, or BMW getting worse...

What's better, fake V10 engine sounds playing from the speakers, or electric motor whine?

Technically it's twin turbo V8 fake sounds haha.

I don't think it's as much of BMW getting worse as it is people not really associating electric cars with being able of great performance. Tesla already showed that some with the Roadster, and this shows they're just getting better and not all electric cars have to be something like the Nissan Leaf.
