Yeah I was hoping you guys could help me. I'm looking at a 06 tundra Dc TRD offroad 4x4 with 50k on it. What are some pros and cons on this truck? I don't know much about them so any help would be appreciated thanks.

There really aren't many cons. 1st Gen Tundra's are awesome trucks. I had an '05 DC SR5 before my Tacoma and loved it. I logged over 75k off-road miles (I map wilderness waterways), and the only thing I ever replaced was a set of blown front struts. However, if I'd had the TRD package (progressive-rate coils and Bilstein shocks), I doubt I would've had any issues.

It's only got 50k miles on it and they only want 19k for it. I'm hoping its all good with no problems.

50k? I would imagine it's pretty clean. Every component of those trucks is near bulletproof, as long as it hasn't been consistently abused it should be just fine.

Ball joint recall, not sure when the cutoff was, the recall was issued in '06.

Other than that, the 4.7 is rock solid. It is an interference engine, so don't skip the timing belt at 90k. It's due at 90, I went 110 and did the waterpump at the same time, as well as the serp belt and all hoses, coolant change and radiator flush while it was out.

The frame and wheel wells look clean doesn't look like its been abused but it's easy to hide that in pics. Hopefully tomorrow they will send me better pics. It's at a toyota dealership.

Hopefully being at a dealership I can make them replace them before I buy it.

    At 50k it's too early.

You can pay them to do it, but it's not due for another 40k and it's not a warranty item.

There ain't any cons really. My dad had a 2000 AC SR5 4x4 since 01', he later gave it to me. I beat the holy hell out of that thing and it never did me wrong. I sold the truck with 116k miles on it, and I regret.

Oh ya... Especially if it's a Toyota dealer, all recalls must be performed before it leaves the lot.

I'm not sure how that works if it's bought from a non-Toyota dealer.

Run a Carfax on the next one you intend to buy and see if it's ever been registered in a northern state. The 1st gen Tundras suffer from the same frame rust problem as the 1st Tacos, so you may come across trucks with frame rot or frame previously replaced.

The 1st gen Tundra is just slightly bigger than your Taco. Some interior bits were in fact reused:
