Supra Successor

After the success of the Subaru/Toyota partnership, Toyota is teaming up with BMW to create another sports car. The designer of the GT-86 is heading up the program.

http://wot.motortrend.com/report-toy...#axzz2KeB7VouR

Its nice to see KERS end up in production cars.

Should be interesting

That's bad ass. I hope they sell it as a Toyota & not a Scion or a Lexus.

I'd assume this would end up as a Scion here in NA and Toyota else where, mainly because Scion is the "sporty" line from Toyota here in NA

Hybrid = sux. Would be nice if they made another straight six that rivaled the Nissan GTR.

Hybrid automatically = sucks, or are there particular reasons for your statement? Just curious. You can get a lot of torque out of electric motors.

That looks awesome! Hopefully they are only looking to get a power train from BMW and that's all.

Toyota will apparently make the engine, BMW from what I've read is helping with suspension and handling

I wonder who Toyota will team up with to make a car next I personally think they are smart for going in with other companies on things like the BRZ/FRS. Something different in today's selection.

Oh ok, that's not bad. That design engineer for Toyota has got to be making a killing right now!

Just my opinion; or is that not appreciated around here?

I would rather have a car that can be build/tuned. This is more of a luxury car than a tuner car and I dont think it deserves to be the Supra sucsessor . In fact, the FR-S is probably a better candidate

Truthfully, I was expecting somthing more akin to the Nissan GTR, not the Acura NSX ( <- also doesnt live up to the original).

I have faith that hybrid technology can be add without affecting the ability to tune it. The only draw back I see is weight and price.
