I know someone who knew someone who had a -insert car brand- and it was terrible it ejected CDs at your face and the roof fell off. Because of this I will only own Toyota.

Only the diesels and they don't explode they just send metal through out the system price range 6-10 grand. Contamination is usually the cause all though lubricity of ultra low sulfur diesel seems to have an effect also.

2025 I think. The Tacoma is safe in my eyes. Toyota sales way to many and makes way to much to get rid of it. However I could see toyota discontinuing the Tundra if sales don't improve.

Before I bought my Tacoma, I was waiting for a Mahindra, http://mahindradieseltruck.com/

They manufacture tractors here in Tenn., I believe.

Since that was never going to happen, I found this site, and was sold.

Toyota has nothing to worry about. If thay didn't change the Tacoma for another 10 yrs. it would still sell like crazy. Toyota owners; especially Tacoma owners; are very loyal & I don't see the purpose of diesel in a mid sized truck. People that want & need diesel power are hauling things to big & heavy for a mid size. Sure there will be the few that buy them because they're new & different, but I don't think sales would justify building them. Why spend probably $40 - $50k when you can get near the same result by installing a super charger for less than $5k! That said, put a diesel in a Tundra & you got my attention!

I think that are some like us that will always buy a Taco based on off roading or the size factor. But the dirty secret is that the full size 1/2 trucks now get the same economy due to improved technology. If Toyota does not address this issue, I think they will see many buyers shifting to the larger trucks. IMO, the diesel or small SC engine is the way Toyota should go.

I saw a hybrid Tacoma on the 405 in Washington one day. Dude was in the carpool lane since well, hybrids can use HOV lanes there.

Once you own a diesel you can't get them out of your system At least 30% better fuel economy tons of low end torque and more fun to drive. Make mine a 3L turbo diesel. Yes I would buy a Tacoma diesel.
