Stupid slow ass drivers. The speed limit is meant to be broken.

Generally, I stay to the right... But there are exceptions.

    1. If there isn't a lot of traffic, and the right lane is all torn up, I will cruise in the left lane. This seems to be more of an issue in Ohio for some reason... More on them later.

    2. If there is a lot of traffic and there is a group of vehicles cruising at the same pace, consistently passing slower traffic, I will stick with the group.

When I'm driving I am always in my mirrors, so even if I am cruising in the left lane, I usually see a faster moving vehicle coming and move over pretty quickly. That's the key... Even if I'm doing 120mph, if someone else is doing 130, I will move over and let them by. It's not about fast lane slow lane... It's about the passing lane. I've been with the jag offs that cruise in the passing lane doing 70 in a 65 and say "I'm going fast enough"... That is plain wrong... No arguing... WRONG!

Back to Ohio... And Michigan. What is it with you people and not understanding basic driving? Without fail, I will come up on a vehicle doing 5 under in the left lane... Pass them, then have them riding my bumper 5 minutes later in the right lane... 99% of the time it's a Michigan plate! It's gotten to be a running joke with my wife. Do they hand out drivers licenses at WalMart in Michigan?

Man I must be getting old and soft. There was a day and age I'd ride someone's ass in the fast lane until they got over OR go around them on the right in a rush. Nowadays it may irritate me but my truck is slow anyways so I'm not using the left lane nearly as much.

I drive in the left lane a lot. DGAF. I always go 5+ over so I'm passing quite a bit.

I remember seeing a video of some college students who did a social experiment, in georgia i think. They all got on a 4 lane interstate (4 lanes 1 way, 4 the other) all going the same direction and speed, then all slowed down to the speed limit (60 or 55 i think). It backed traffic up for miles, and people actually started passing on the sides of the road.

Never had a speeding ticket in my life and I started driving about the same time your egg hatched. Learn how to respect other people and maybe you can do the same.

Common fucking courtesy, that it looks like your parents forgot to instill in you. At 17 years old about the only thing that could save you is the military. Please join so you can become a man who respects others.

LOL 90mph in traffic... in NJ.... silly children

You're an old fart. You probably can't even see them in front of you. :D

I did this on a trip from NC to NJ once. Middle of the night. Two dipshits driving right next to each other for over 5 miles. I don't flash my high beams and blind people so I politely turned off my headlights for a second and back on again to let the guy in the passing lane know I was there.

That's a lot better of a way to go about it. Now, I'm not saying it's a good idea to get buddies together and cockblock rush hour, but it was interesting how people have the concept of a 'speed limit' and how it's not truly a limit at all.

Half the time the middle lane is moving better than that of the left lane (especially during rush hour here in FL) because everyone is stacking in the left lane. Which leads to the left lane being the slower lane.

For me it is time of day. If it isn't overly crowded and I am keeping up with traffic I will hang out in the left lane. If it is moderately crowded I use the left lane as a passing lane. Rush hour - Forget it; I stick to the middle lane and let everyone else jockey around switching lanes and making no progress.

I live in L.A. It Doesn't matter what lane you are in. There is always traffic so you never get to go very fast. And on the rare occasion the freeways are clear of congestion and you can get above 65mph, there is always some Mexican in the left lane going 20 mph under the speed limit because they are scared of getting pulled over for lack of license, registration, insurance, and a brain.

And even though I am half Mexican it doesn't mean I have to like 'em.

Well since there are only 2 lanes to choose from around here I hang out mostly in the fast lane. Avoiding as many big rigs & on ramps as possible. I'll get out of the way if someone wants to go faster than me, but I spend most of the time there.

Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!
I don't mind people in the left lane, but just move over if someone wants to pass. People really are ignorant to the fact it is a passing lane. If I hadn't gotten checked off on it on my CDL license years ago, I don't think I would remember it either. 20 years since my permit test, you forget things. Why I really love insurance reduction courses, to refresh memory of the laws.
