I've mellowed with age and just stick with the flow of traffic now. Used to swear by my Escort, but with modern laser guns it's worthless anyway.

I used to have one in my old jetta. Got it because I was doing a lot of driving between AZ and CA - it worked really well out on those open highways in the middle of the night with NOTHING around. That one got stolen (along with my stereo and some other crap) and I just never replaced it. I later got one for the taco before making a trip to Glamis - and it didn't seem to work as well as the previous one used years ago..

I travel to and from school about 200 miles one way every week average speed is about 80-85mph never got a speeding ticket.... if I did this with a radar detector i would have gotten like 10 tickets but now..... Moral of this story CB's KICK ASS!!!

I don't want to pick a fight or anything, but I'm exceptionally good with spotting low profile cop cars. I don't really like to speed on city roads for a lot of reasons, so I kinda just play with it to keep my mind sharp.

I'm one of those people that can tell you the make and model of a car by the shape of its headlights or taillights at night, so whenever I see a Crown Vic, I'm on the alert.

...and in the day time, low profile cops are easy to spot because of the much-darker-than-legal window tint.

But man, Scottsdale is a bitch, because they use everything for cop cars. I saw a silver Buick Lucerne with lights hidden in the window the other day.

Wow. Oh wait, the lights are on the sun visors, aren't they? I've seen that...

But what is this crap about a Lexus? The police should be supporting unions like the rest of us by driving American cars!

Im thinking they are doing that here, too. I have seen some pretty cool cars light up, and pull other drives over.

That guy needs to find something better to spend his money on. He should have lifted it and superchargered it so he could volunteer down by the border, running down the coyotes. :D

I actually think he WAS SC'ed. I was in my SC Tacoma, and he caught me very quickly.

I normally don't speed and if I do it's because I'm going to the fire house for a call and thats even if I go 5 over. Other then that, I know all the cops in town anyways.:D

i work ambulance, so i'm used to going about 20-40 km/hr over the speed limit. and when i'm on long trips in my truck, as much as i like to travel, i just want to get there.

so last summer, i was on a trip which takes 2 1/2 hrs, i was going 140 k/hr, and got pulled over. the officer had to cross the grass median to come and get me. he asked me how fast i thought i was going, i told him about 125-130 k/hr (speed limit 100 k/hr). he told me he got me @ 139 k/hr. he asked if i work ambulance because i have EMS decals on my truck windows (for this very reason).

he went to his car and wrote up a ticket for 25 k/hr over the speed limit, he was being nice, he could have wrote it for 39 over. then he started asking questions about my tacoma, because he was thinking of buying one for personal use. i told him he should because they are awesome trucks, and told him to come check out tacoma world for more info.

anyway, the next day i went and bought a radar detector, and never been stopped since. the detector would go off long before i would see any officers, and i know where all the red light camera's.

but i do know that they are no good against "POP" radar. they will detect, but its probably too late to slow down by then.
