So im looking to buy a full size truck. Im not using it as a daily driver, however i want something that i can count on. I do not need to haul anything, I just want something bigger than my 4 cyl toyota. Im looking at 94-00 7.3 powerstrokes, and some of the 12 valve cummins. However ive heard diesels can be very pricy when they break.

My question is what is the most reliable full size pick up that i can rack loads of miles on with general maintenance. Also, should i go with diesel or gas.

Diesels hardly break down and go with a Cummins less moving parts and the company that builds the engine shad a very good reputation for reliability
