S2000 or WRX?

So I want to get a fun car... don't worry keeping the Taco. I want something to tune up, toy around, maybe even take to the track. I may also use it as a DD from time to time.

I love the handling and style of the S2000. It makes great power, convertible, and just an overall sick car. Love RWD, sleek lines, Sporty...

The Wrx is obviously an awesome car, I'm looking at a 2002 - 2006 at best. I love turbo cars... just something about them. I like the convenience of the 4 doors and the awd, my only concern that it is a little pedestrian looking.

Opinions?

WRX, reliability is awesome, as is AWD.
I personally prefer the 5 door over the 4 door, but they both look good.

I'd go for the WRX all day long.

I'd go Supra twin turbo. WRX but be ready to rebuild tranny; I think they get beat to death by alot of people.

Just a WRX or the STi? If you're between the S2000 and a plain WRX, I'd take the S2000 all day, they are a ton of fun! Between the STi and the S2000, that's a tough one... Unless you need 4 doors though, I'd probably still take the S2000. Something about that car... handles really well, convertible , just a fun car to drive.

Do you care about comfort and practicality? If so get the Subaru, otherwise the Honda will be more fun.

The impreza handles corners quite well, I love mine. It feels so safe too especially with our rainy weather here. S2k would be quite awesome to slide around with if youre into that. Motor is also quite nice.
Id probably take the wrx (or sti if you can afford it).

WRX

I owned a 02 WRX. The car was awesome, felt a lil heavy but Built like a tank. My buddy had a S2000, and I must say that thing was fun to drive. High rev, and when the VTEC kicked in it felt like boost. But for customizing and ease to work on I say the WRX

WRX - once you get used to driving an AWD car, there's no going back.

I would also be wary of a used convertible with a power top. There are too many potential age-related problems (window seals cracking, wiring issues with rear defroster, motor dying, corroded linkages...)

I would never get a wrx. Only an Sti. The Sti has a super strong 6 speed, while the 5 speed in the wrx is weak. Honda S2000 would probably be the better buy between the 2. If it was Sti vs s2000, Sti would be the better choice for me.

Funny you post this thread, I am in the same dilemma.

I have always had a toy car, but at the current moment only have the Taco.

I miss having a fun car and have been looking at S2K's as well. You can find older models for relatively cheap, and they are a blast.

IMO for a strickly Toy car, a 2 seater convertable with RWD is a no brainer.

You have a truck for when u need to haul people/gear or are driving in rain/snow.

My garage--- 2013 Golf R compliments the Taco. 256hp, 0-60 in 5.6, AWD, Dynaudio, leather heated seats, nav and roof.
For $600 APR flash it'll be at 306hp

That's my vote...

Like many others I've also owned an STI. I loved it. My friend has a S2k and its pretty awesome ride. It boils down to what you want out of the car. Finding an unmolested WRX can be a challenge, finding a baby boomers mid life crisis S2k can be easier. If you buy it off some 60 year old, you are pretty much guaranteed a factory fresh car.
