I don't really understand the bashing of people buying F 150's. If they are looking for a truck larger than the Tacoma I think its one of the best options. Sure Ford has had reputation problems in the past but I agree that they have come a long way with rebranding and redesigning their vehicles. On paper, they are making vehicles that are just as reliable as Toyota... I know Toyota has proven their reliability and some of the new technology of the F 150 we don't know how it will hold up. I know a few people with new F 150's and they are great trucks.

If I needed to buy a new truck, it would be the F150 EB screw. Maybe if the tundra didnt look like a toad...

We'll in the great plan of life, things tend to even out. My last truck before buying my Tacoma was an F150. It was a good truck and I enjoyed driving it, but it's very size made it too cumbersome around town and in tight places. In the last 10 years I've owned the F150, Ford Ranger Edge, and a Silverado. All good vehicles, but my needs changed. Enjoy your F150, you know that we'll be enjoying our Tacomas.

Well, it sounds like You.re a full size truck guy and don't mind spending $120 to fill your gas tank. The guys on this thread like mid sized trucks. Apples and oranges here.

If I would get a full size it would 100% be a ford.

    Enjoy the new truck.

When it was time for me to get another truck I looked at a Ford. Sorry they quit making the Ranger as I would have bought another one in a minute. Love my Tacoma. Have no need for a full size truck.

Man, Good luck!!! I am actually waiting for my Double Cab Tacoma Sport to get here. I am getting out of an extended cab f150 fx4 luxury package and can't wait to be rid of it. It only has 9500 miles and is a 2013. I owe 35K on it and was offered everything from 25K to what I ended up getting for trade at 31K. I know I'm not getting as well as equipped truck with all the amenities but I am really looking forward to the Tacoma. Good luck with your Ford. I know that I couldn't wait to get out of my Chevy Silverado to get this Ford and after having this one for 16 months I can honestly tell you that I will never own another Ford product in all my days.

No mud flaps, plasti dipped emblems, and rear bumper, Weather tech digital fit, Bed mat from tractor supply. Pioneer 4400BH head unit. B.A.M.F bed rail tie downs. AVS vent visors.
Idk how you find the 2nd gen taco so small compared to a 1 st gen tundra! My dad has a 2000 extended cab tundra with the v8 and I find my taco much more roomy and comvterbal! The knobs and stuff al seam a little bigger in the taco than the 1st gen tundra. I feel like I'm closer to the passenger in the tundra than I do in the taco. I also think power is pretty close to the same. But hey maybe all that's just me!

Good luck with that ford buddies dad had a 12 and it was a POS! Dash falling apart going down road, dim ass headlights! (The tacos low beams where brighter than the hi beams on that truck!) trans and engine problem under 20k and they tried to say nothing was wrong with it! He got read of it within like 6 months or of owning.

Never been on a forum that allowed so many posts about unrelated topics to its sub forum...... It's not a big deal but if you want to celebrate your purchase I feel it would be much better to post on the f150 forums

I tried to believe that ford was on a better path, all the hype on having "stepped it up" , my wife having a 2008 ford edge, yeah sure looks pretty, but that tranny is not shifting right, and starting to feel sluggish.. mind you all maintenence has been kept up only 50 k.. SHE LOVES DRIVING MY TACOMA THOUGH! soon we will be trading that edge for a 4runner! thank god!

Because it's a Toyota forum. People operate under the delusion that Toyota vehicles are flawless and have zero problems. They wouldn't sell as many F150's they do if literally everyone was a pile of shit that breaks. People seem to think Toyotas are the only thing to go over 100k. Tons of vehicles from all sorts of brands will last if you take care of them. You'll have lemons from every manufacturer. Same way people will dog this brand or that brand here, go outside of the Toyota world and everyone talks about how much a pile of shit Toyota trucks are because they rust. Everybody knows someone who's sisters boyfriends boss had a neighbors whose father in law saw a Ford on a flatbed truck once therefore they suck. I also question whether people actually look at other new vehicles before saying how great the qualify of Toyotas are. Frankly, quality has slipped A LOT. They're not the leader they once were. Sure, reliability of their power trains is very very good (people often seem to confuse quality and reliability).

Personally, I don't think you can go wrong really with any of the full size trucks on the market. I would have gotten an F150 had I not gotten a much better deal on the Tundra.

If it weren't for the "TacoShakes" I'd love my Tacoma. I was very close to pulling the trigger on an F150 but kept thinking it was too big. That EcoBoost is bad-ass and that big truck hauls butt!

I too like some trail riding, nothing hard core, but the Tacoma is much better due to it's size. A buddy just bought a 2014 F150 and I've ridden in it twice now. His truck is so smooth, quiet and more comfortable/roomier. For everything but parking and trail riding I think the Ford has the Tacoma beat.

No problem with his posting about his Ford here. Just because we have Tacomas I don't think we should bash someone for posting about another make of truck in here. I would like to think we could discuss advantages/disadvantages of Tacoma/F150 - in an objective manner, not a blind manner. It's quite easy to spot fanboy posts on these threads, and I take those with a grain of salt. It's also easy to spot objective opinions. Those I listen to. I love my Tacoma, but I think the F150 is the nicest looking truck on the road these days. But that's just my opinion, and you know what opinions are like...

P.S. I bet he won't have to look under his truck every day like I do to see if the frame rusted out overnight.
