My dad's 2010 F150 has been in and out of the dealership since day one for electrical gremlins, tranny issues, rust straight from the dealership, bad rear diff, and leaking door seal.

Dude babies that shit like nothing else, and every other week he's got it at the dealership for some bullshit that's gone wrong. Thing has less than 30k on the clock.

cool!! you've always been a wealth of tacoma knowledge..a big help.

glad you're still around. i like the F150. my last work truck was one..current one is a 2008 Sierra. we crush those trucks in usage..they all perform perfectly fine. all of them. ford and chevys..and all the new tacomas we are getting.

It was a tough call between the F150 and the Tundra, both trucks would suit my needs just fine. I thought the Ford felt a little tighter and had less of a floating feeling than I felt with the Tundra and I liked the looks of the Ford a little better. And also (this is a big one) Toyota was only willing to give me $1500 for my 2000 Tundra that was in close to excellent condition and has a new frame. I had both Ford & Toyota price out the deal with and without the trade so I knew what they were giving me for my 2000. Ford offered $5K for my trade. So in the end the F150 was a few thousand less than the Tundra. Again it was close between the two, the Tundra really is an awesome truck.

I sill think the Tacoma is a nice truck but in the end it just wasn't what I needed.

Hey OP great Truck had a 2001 Crew cab F150 and loved that Truck. Had it fixed up great. It was great offroad and towed great. Had lots of room as well.
Did the same as you though needed a bigger Truck than the Tacoma for towing and hauling family. So we bought a 2012 Dodge 2500 Diesel crew cab. Awesome truck. Not refined as the Toyota and has had a couple regen issues but fixed now. Still have my 2008 Tacoma crew cab with 120,000 miles on it and going strong.

My father had a work truck through his company. It was a 2004 f-250 with the trition v10. Needless to say the truck was a tank. Nothing but oil changes and regular maintenance for the life of the vehicle. It finally died recently with 339,710 miles. Cylinder 9 and 10 went on it and we still drove it to the shop. I miss that truck as i spent my childhood growing up in it but its been replaced with the a 2013 f250 already has 60k mils on it. Ford makes a heck of a truck based on personal experience. My father also had a 1997 f150 and sold it with 260k, it had no major problems.
