My wife has a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer with a little over 89,000 miles on it. We've noticed back in the winter when its 20s-30s in the morning, when we start it up the windshield wipers will come on automatically without the wiper switch on. The other day when I was driving down the road it was 90ish, they just started going while I was driving down the road so I just played it off by spraying some windshield washer fluid until they stopped. LOL Last night we were driving home and I was going about 47 mph and all of a sudden it jolted a little and speedometer jumped to about 53-55mph and check engine light came on and then speedometer went back to 47mph and check engine light went back off. What could all this be? Also, her radio sometimes will play regular like its supposed to with full sound and then others its just playing the highs through the tweeters or something. You can turn the volume knob all the way up and its just "ti ti ti ti ti" just playing the highs.

    Trade it for a Toyota.

It sounds like a short somewhere. Just weird that it affects so many different things. I had a Chrysler minivan that had the wipers turn on by itself every now and then, but none of the other issues you are experiencing. Maybe start with the battery ground cable - check the connections at the battery and the frame. Other than that I would not know where to start, since it seems to be all over the place.
(Or trade it for a Toyota as suggested above ;))

I know!!!!!!!!!!! I don't know what to do. It only get about 15 mpg around town and hwy is about 20 at best. Most of the driving is city. We had thought about maybe getting a car(camry) but having a child and not sure if we are going to have another not sure if its the right thing or enough room. (I know people do it everyday though) We thought about a Sienna or maybe another suv. Both of us really hate the thought of having another car payment. We were hoping to get my taco paid for before we had another payment but thats another 4 years. GEEEEZZZ

i heard a failing alternator can give you some pretty bizarre and random gauge issues.

Also I noticed it more when it got dark early but we would be driving down the rode and the headlights a working fine but I let off the gas and the lights start dimming then going back normal. It was like I was flicking my lights at people
