DEF and other diesel emissions control tech (like the particulate filter) are not fully mature. Ever seen DEF solidify when the system has problems? It's urea after all:

What's better, this or spruce mica? And I think the front airdam is as low as the mudflaps on Tacos...

Poor inboard shock placement -> exhaust pipe squeezed to the middle -> need heat shield for spare tire. Note spare tire is as low as the diff pumpkin.

Looks like Chevy is learning from the Tacoma, right down to equipping it with shitty OEM tires (Goodyear SR-A).

I like the shine of the Spruce Mica better in the sun... although that green from Chevy isn't bad.

I'm really debating a DCSB Spruce or waiting for one of these (GM Canyon actually... not a fan of the Chevy's grille and lights)

How long are you willing to wait, until 2017? Avoid buying a vehicle in the first two years of production, to give the automaker time to work out the bugs. This goes for both domestics and reputable Japanese brands like Toyota and Honda. If you intend to go off-road, the new Colorado/Canyon will take more work to modify to an acceptable level of readiness, and the aftermarket (lift, skid plates, bumpers) will take a couple of years to catch up.

The Colorado looks good, almost like a Tacoma.

Because off-road capability was low on the design team's list of priorities. Meanwhile it's easier to argue for lower step-in height and lower loading floor for the bed. Not just GM, Ford too.

There's propaganda in this video (because it's a Toyota dealer), but Toyota does pay more attention with underbody protection:

So many cuts in that video for some reason. Felt really weird and stunted.

I like how the plastic engine cover flexes or how the weather stripping is peeling of on the back door of the Tundra when he talks about warranty and complimentary stuff, I guess F150 does not come with any options as there is no sticker on that door.

But joking aside, I get your point KenLyns and there are a few things he mentions where I believe Toyota has a better designed product.

It's interesting the Tundra has the exhaust crossover pipe routed aft of the transfer case, while the Tacoma does not.

Yes. Lol but the tacoma does have a low hanging exhaust but it's not only the taco.
