    I don't know about that statement, the one and only Ford I ever bought was reliable as hell putting the whole service staffs kids through college :p

    Good to hear. EVERY Ford I have seen has been nothing but a problem. I was even hit with a bolt off of a NEW Ford last week.

    Ha ha the service guys got mega overtime working on my truck

    My Ford cost Ford more to fix then if they had just given me 2 brand new trucks

    Before it was 6 months old
    1 New Clutch
    1 trans rebuild
    1 New Trans
    1 transfer case rebuild
    1 front ring & pinion
    1 front hub assembly
    3 computer brain boxes
    2 gas tank sending units
    2 new brake calipers and rotors
    re-paint on the interior of the box

    And to top it off I couldn't qualify for the Lemon Law because after all that work Ford determined that it was "Normal" :laugh:

    My Dad used to be a big ford fan. He bought a new (at the time) Ford 350, and he came over to show me, and when he went to put it in "Park", the shifter flew out the window. Last Ford he ever owned.

    People say that im anti american because i choose to buy a toyota tacoma that is a truck that will last a lot longer than any american car. they are made in america!! like the plant in freemont ca..total cop out..everything we wear is made in korea or japan or some other country. one guy that said this was wearing a ronald regan cap. "made in korea".:eek: woops

    I saw a review in the paper about the hybrid Chevy (fullsize) truck.

    I had to laugh...the towing capacity was only 6100lbs.

    I don't even know what the gas mileage was - seems pointless.

    enough with the ford bashing, i do own a tacoma and would have it no other way but my mom, contractor, has always owned fords, and has never had any major issues and my brothers both own f150's with no probs. yes japanese cars are better, that doesnt mean american cars are complete shit

    Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
    I have never owned a Chevy or Ford truck. My bro-in-law has two F150's, his and his dad's. His is a 97 and has over 250k on the clock. It still holds its own. He has only ever had to do routine maintenance on it, minus a wheel bearing and a few u-joints. I would consider that par for the course though. I really have nothing to say from personal experience, but I hadn't found my tundra after the buyback, I was looking for a F150.

    You don't get to be the most sold vehicle in the world for 20 years by making an unreliable truck.

    The f150 is a great truck.

    And electric power has the potential to completely demolish gas motors in every aspect of power and reliability. They just need to get the battery technology better.

    Remember an electric motor has 100% torque at 1 RPM.

    Well, look into the numbers and see how many of those vehicles are "Fleet" vehicles. They can sell them cheap. One of the reasons my Dad bought Ford for his company was because, the F150's he was looking at had an MSRP of around 18 to 20K. He bought 15 for under 10k each.

    You are correct. How many companies are going to want a fleet of unreliable vehicles though?

    Ford trucks are great. All companies have exceptions.

    Although I have never heard of a ford being bought back for frame rust on a car less than 5 years old.
