Brother is getting 2001 4runner

    My brother is getting his first car soon and it is a 2001 4runner. It has a little over 200k miles on it and I just wanted to know if theres anything I should look out for or check on with these cars, thanks

    Not really, there solid rides. Ive owned 2 of them and never had a moment of trouble with either of them.

    Check out this thread, it will help a lot with general information and things to look for. Also the manual trans was discontinued after 2000, so it will be an auto. The auto is actually really strong and doesn't have many issues besides the pink milkshake which the link above will cover.

    I see you're local so you shouldn't have an issue with rust, which will be good. We have quite a few 4runners around the Bay Area and get together every so often if he wants to learn more about them.
