I think I've seena few people on here who have (or their partners have) Toyota 4Runners.

My wife is up for a new car soon, and was thinking of a 4Runner. Budget is not extensive, so prob looking for something for around $6-8k. Would that buy something reliable that will last for a while?

She was interested in a cool old Jeep Wagoneer but a mechanic we were talking to said they are a nightmare for maintenance requirements. Typically require new radiators every 3 yrs due to bad corrosion probs.

Any inherant probs with the 4 Runners?

For $6-8k, you should be able to find a reasonable 3rd gen 4Runner with the very reliable 3.4L v6 that is also in the 1st Gen Tacomas. The 4Runners are generally a little cheaper than the Tacomas.

i got a 02 with 80k for like $8.5k. issues would be the same as tacos of the same years. right now my steering feels sloppy cause of the bushings. but no real issues yet. its comfy and convenient.

I miss my Taco, but the 4Runner (even as old as it is) is really growing on me. Very nice since I am currently a soccer mom:eek:.
