went and drove the gmc LBZ and the dodge 6.7 cummins, today. these diesels have so much restrictions these days compared to our old powerstroke and 12 valve cummins, both straight-piped. Im not big on tuners and after market computer modules or programmers. i would like to take as much restriction from the exhaust and intake as possible without needing a tuner or hurting the power, does anyone know what can be with this?

I read in Diesel Power magazine, that there is an exhaust for the Cummins that is a tubo back type system. Give a pretty big gain. Personally, My Moms 2010 Cummins pulls alot stronger than even our 05.

if you get the 6.7 i know you can ditch the DPF and get the xrt tuner and it wont throw any codes, its the best 6.7 tuner on the market.
    good luck with the purchase.

Yeah...I was checking out her exhaust, and there is a shit ton of sensors on it. Also, the exhaust brake may be an issue too...

The truck probably won't pass a smog check with the DPF removed. Not sure if that factors into your decision or not. Maybe you could put it back on for the test?
