mjp2 and I took some side trips when coming back from Primm, NV.

We stopped at the Grand Canyon West (where the skywalk is). I have to say this is a must do. It's really, really cool and a once-in-a-lifetime thing to hover over the Grand Canyon like that.

We drove from there to Moab, UT for Arches National Park. The drive through NE Arizona to SE Utah was INCREDIBLE. The colors, the scenery, is unreal. If you want more info, PM me!

When you get to Texas and are running 2 lane roads. You will notice on most of them the shoulder of the road is as wide as another lane. If you have someone behind you that wants to get around the proper thing to do is pull onto the shoulder maintaining your speed and letting the car behind you go by. 9 out of 10 times they will wave a thank you as they do. Also it looks like your going to be an aggie. Lots of guys on here that live in CS. so check out the Texas region fourms and youll have plenty of guys to tell you all about where you are moving to.

Better get an early start if you're still planning on making it here by tomorrow evening! And I will most likely be out in the mountains but if you happen to see a white '99 extended cab with a TW sticker and a pink moose in the rear window, give a wave - that's me.

Be sure to keep all of TW posted as to how the truck manages the trip.

I would say hit up Yellowstone, i have been there once, and i have to say it is the most beautiful place i have ever been, you could spend several days touring there, its so nice. And if you get a chance i would say go on a hike there, its just the most beautiful landscapes you will see.

Other than that i have not been anywhere near where your going, and if you were coming through NC i would offer you the couch.

Sounds like the trip of a lifetime man, hope ya have fun, i hope to do something similar when i graduate college.

Great idea, bad time of year. I would have been the first to suggest Yellowstone as a must-see but the roads are still closed for the winter. The park doesn't open until April 16th.

You should stretch a little out of the way and drop down the Colorado/ Utah border. You won't be diasappointed. On that route you'd hit Moab, roll through the ridiculously beautiful SW Colorado mountains, here in Farmington, NM. ("Mini Moab", we just had a whole segment about us on Xtreme 4x4), down to Albuquerque, then shoot over on I-40 to Amarillo and you're there.

The whole Four Corners area (Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico) is littered with National Parks. None of which will disappoint you. There are countless state and local points of interest worth checking out too.

If you come through here, let me know. I'll see what I can do to take care of you.:)

Edit: Looking at dates of posts. Looks like I'm too late. :-(
