Ok everyone I have stood my Toyota through this whole recall thing knowing that they are fixing the “problem”. I even said something back to my professor that was talkin ish. But I think I may have changed my mind.

So today I go to my dealer American Toyota to get my “free” oil change. Everything is going fine at first then I realize that I have been there almost and hour and a half when its supposed to take 45 min. so I go to the service bay to figure out what is going on but they pull my truck up so I was like ok nevermind its here now. But the guy that was parking it saw me walk up to the truck and threw it in park and pretty much ran to the back. I was like wtf ok??
So then I decided to do my normal walk around inspection to see if they effed anything up. Well they did. So I walk around one side everything is good then I get to the front and I look at my hood I get pissed there is a pretty good scratch on it, so I continue walking around I look at my beautiful 18x8 boss black chrome rims and see that they scratched the shit out of one of them! At this point im fuming!!!:mad::mad:
Then this guy that usually help me saw me and was like whats wrong. i show him and he is like “wow let me get someone”. So he runs and gets his supervisor and this guy is really nice about it. He asked me what happened and I told him it must have been from the car wash, so he told me he can try and fix it and asked where I got the rims and called the place to see if he could replace it, and was going to try and make arrangements to fix the hood. So at this point im feeling better.
A few min. later he comes back and tells me the bad news. Boss doesn’t make the rims any more  so im SOL im pissed again!!!! So he tells me he is goin to talk to the service manager about the rim and the hood .
So im wating for like 20 min for the damn manager to get out to where I am. He comes over and tells me that during the first inspection the truck was to “dirty” to inspect well enough so they didn’t do anything. I said that’s bs It was not that dirty you would have been able to see those scratches and I walked around with the guy and didn’t see any of it.
The manager pretty much told me well I can pay for some one to polish the rims to try and fix it, and well I cant fix your hood because there is no way that happened here.
I told him that is bs there is no way polishing the rim will fix the scratch its down to the metal and yes you can fix the hood. It was not there before. So they set me on my way with some guys number to fix my rim.
So tomorrow im going back to get the managers name a customer service report and the discrit managers name and number and see what they tell me then.
Sorry for the looooong post I just had to vent and well here are some pictures of the damage.

that sucks, but dealers are independent operators from Toyota - think of it as a part of their distribution chain. They are independently operated and operate on loose term with Toyota. Each are trying to make a profit and compete with each other.

It's the same as blaming the fault of one subway or mcdonald's franchise's mistake on the whole corporation.

thats very true but everything they do depends on keeping their job, they are somewhat disposable especially in this economy im sure someone wants their job more than they realize......

Deffinatly go back tomorrow. Be cool though. Go in there and ask them for their names and when they ask you why say you are filing a complaint. I gurantee their attitudes will change. If they dont then file a complaint. Like you said, that scratch would have been noticable. I wonder how they did that and the wheel.

that sucks and I feel your pain.

however you cant blame (toyota) for that. it could of happened at any dealership. ford, gm, etc.

it is bullshit and they should fix it but like i said, someone scratched the rims and hood. not toyota.

thats just shitty management, you can get that anywhere
