Seems the problem for Toyota is not going away. Still sticking their heads in the sand.. Today around 1ish in San Diego. East county some poor guy is driving his Prius on the freeway when his throttle opened full tilt!
He called 911 and a CHP cruiser managed to get in front of him and managed to bring both vehicles to a safe stop. The gent said he was tooling along when all of a sudden the car jumped then the throttle went nuts and ?? He was doing close to 90mph and said the brakes were useless. I guess Toyota has more work to do..
Take care folks and try to be safe

CAI, dynomax turbo exhaust system, tinted windows medium on the fronts to match the backs, hid kit hi and low beam, pop and lock tailgate, painted calipers red with caliper paint, put 2.25' leveling kit in front and a 1" block in the rear. its now level and rides WAY better (readylift)>way nicer than the revtek my buddy has i think its garbage imo<, hurst "T" shifter, 18 x 10 american racing (can't remember the name) chrome rims with badass 5 inch lip :), 12 inch rockford fosgate punch with rockford fosgate 600 watt amp, bushwacker fender flares (cheaper than replacing the one i wrecked lol) ,kc light bar with kc lights, toyota aluminum stamped skid plate, and a skull front license plate. More mods to come, thinking a 6 inch lift and arb bumper etc etc.
you know i agree with the whole putting it in "N" thing.

But if you think about it how cool would it be to have a police escort while doing 90 mph hahahaha i think i would love it.

    Just a thought

just turn the key off, know that you will lose power steering and only have one shot at power brakes. It's a no brainer.

Agreed, put it in neutral, if unable to put it in neutral, turn the damn thing off. My theory is Toyota is trying to do us a favor, and weed out the stupid people in this planet.

That goes along with my theory. We should do away with all warning stickers. If you are too dumb not to know that you don't stick you hand in a lawn mower, you don't deserve an arm. Same applys with a sticky throttle. Just let Darwin do his thing.

:spy: Maybe, just maybe...Toyota waited till almost everyone had a Toyota of one type or another. Maybe all of the Toyota's are connected to a master computer in Japan. They have been testing it, sending a Lexus here a Camry there speeding out of control. Japan is just waiting for the right time to send them all speeding out of control at the same time, that is how they are going to take over the world, well North America anyways. :anonymous:

    Jokes aside...

I'm curious, is the vehicle actually accelerating as in as if you were to apply more pressure to accelerate (pedal to the metal) or is it maintaining a steady acceleration as if you never lifted you foot off of the pedal (cruising)?

What other factors play into this? Floormats? Trash? Media attention? This day in age I would not put it past someone to put themselves into a situation to blemish Toyota. How can it be proved that it wasn't the guy who did it?

    Think of the Mylar balloon????
