I hear they make a good tractor. Maybe the workmanship will spill over into the truck. I am definitely interested. The standard cab doesn't look too bad but that 4-door will take some getting used to.

I was just told that if the diesel engine in the truck is as good as the tractors it would a nice strong engine.

Not any more, they are making it very difficult to mod the diesels these days, they have visual as well as sniffer inspections for the emissions.

That has too be one of the ugliest truck ive ever seen...The only thing going for it is the diesel...But it only has IIRC 108HP...LOL

Performance chip won't even get that thing up to 200hp, But if it did it would hurt the drivetrain.

I think i'll be sticking to my Taco and waiting for Toyota to bring out a diesel model.

Nothing like that in my state thank god. And the mod gods will prevail!

This thing will open up the market though for smaller diesels. Good warranty, beat the piss out of it and dump'er at 60k

I'd take this a work truck and a mustang as a Daily Driver. Then hopefully Yota will be in the states with their diesel by the time I'm 50.. and that would be the last truck I'd ever have to buy....LOL

That has a touch of the Mercedes G-series as well. Wonder what the box style does to fuel economy.

Give us a diesel option TOYOTA!!!!!!!!!

It's fuckin ridiculous that we can't buy a 1/2 ton truck with a solid front axle and a turbo diesel. I don't want to buy one of these ugly pigs, but diesel is where it's at! That said, next truck might just be one of these.....

This thing would be sweet offroad with a solid-axle. And the 30mpg would be about 22 with some mud tires

I kinda like the bed, with cleats on the outside you can tie cargo down with. Give me a 5 or 6 speed with that diesel, and a solid axle front. With that combo, including vinyl seats and flooring, manual everything for under 20k, I would buy it. Hell, just an AM/FM radio would do.

I have always liked the bed cleats as well. Functional. I'd pass on the vinyl seats though. TX sun and vinyl seats DON'T mix!

They advertise up to 30MPG. I figure once they choke it down with all the Cali req'd T2B5 emissions BS and use the chemical diesel we have here in the states we'll see around 22 (Before the mud tires, Ham). That's just a guess though. I'll take it either way! As said before, maybe it will open the eyes of the other car makers!

They've been teasing the release of this truck so long it will be nice if they actually do release it. It needs lots of refinement, but it might provoke Ford and Toyota to compete a little.
