I think thunderstorms are very cool and living in Kansas we get our fair share. Anyone else have any pictures of weather they've run into while driving?

I was referring more to the ominous and dark storm up ahead, but yes, the red truck was there too. That picture was taken at 3 in the afternoon.

THAT sucks. That storm was not light on rain. I was travelling back on 54 highway from Liberal for work and ran right into it...even got some hail, but thankfully no damage. Did all of your stuff get soaked?

I read once that if it weren't for the moisture we receive during severe thunderstorms in the spring, Kansas would be referred to as "The Great American Desert". Two nights ago we lucked out. During the span of an hour we were under three different tornado warnings!

Thankfully no, only about a 4"x12" patch of carpet and my curtains, that was fixed easily enough with a wetvac. Any idea on a good place to do a meet up? I was thinking Sedgwick county park for a meet & greet and grill out.

As dry as it gets in the summer, I believe it. After living in Virginia Beach and dealing with hurricanes every year, I welcome tornadoes. They take a lot less time...

I've been out of town for a couple of days, but I've heard the weather hasn't been too good. I'm glad I put my Tacoma in the garage. I would definitely be up for a trail meet in Rose Hill if we can get it set up. I would love to test my truck out on the trails. Let us know what the final verdict is.

I can tell you all right now my Bridgestone Dueler highway tires and mudflaps will not be happy.

I was a reserve officer in Rose Hill (many moons ago) but I don't know what DPG is. However if you are doing a CCW class I would assume there is a range there as well???????

4X4, BBQ, and shootin' guns! Woo Hoo! Count me in!!!!!

(wow I just sounded redneck as hell didn't I? Oops )

Dirk runs DPG Offroad out of his property, He also runs Defensive Strategies out there too. Good man. He is primarily a Jeep outfitter but dabbles in toyotas too.
    Sorry for the thread jack...

No worries, something good came out of it. Maybe some people can get together. I'm only in Wichita about 25% of the time, but if I'm in town when you get together I'll probably come out.

Other than the off-road park in eastern Kansas, there are not many places that I've found to use 4-wheel drive. Hopefully this Rose Hill thing works out. I'm taking my truck to northern Minnesota next week and I'm going to stop by the off-road park they have up there to check it out. I'll keep checking to see if things work out around here though.
