Keyword is Rumor. By the time this hits market, it will have 380hp but they will put 2.7 gears on it so it get 24mpg highway but performs like a 300hp truck... like the new V6 Mustang.

The numbers on that engine are impressive, no doubt. However, the real world MPG it is returning, is MUCH less than what Ford is claiming. And Im not sure how reliable its going to be.

    .

Remember the old Buick Grand National V6 ?? Ford has 2 of those old geezers working on it in the SVT group.

What would that be like in a F-100 ... .... CAFE mileage & HP performance ...

I love my Taco, but this caught my attention. It might be a semi-dog in a F-150, but in a SVT F-100, it would be a screamer ...

I remember those engines. And they were monsters in a car. As is the Ford engine. BUT, these guys are turning up the tuning a little more, and throwing the engine in a heavier vehicle. Im not sure how it will hold up.

    Turbocharge?

Yeah, cause that's what I want when I'm carrying a load in the bed of my truck.

Turbolag and jarring the shit out of my cargo.

In a diesel sure...in a highway or track vehicle sure. In an everyday vehicle? I don't think so. Most truck owners and particularly companies are not going to want to throw premium in their vehicles on a daily basis.

All these factory-FI'd engines coming out these days make me wonder about engine longevity. Say what you want about natural aspiration, it lasts longer.

There is no replacement for displacement! x2 for the loads I would rather have a NA or a supercharged engine, screw turbo lag

did you watch the videos? there is supposedly no turbo lag because of how the twin ones are set up.

thats what they said about the powerjoke with twin turbos. So many problems with that engine they started designing a new one to replace it almost immediately.
