    you mean units or make/models?

The scary thing is - These electronic defects are all at the design level. Are Yota engineers simply overlooking things? Scary indeed.. they need to re-look how they approach the control aspects of their designs..

Whether or not they are selling has nothing to do with whether the vehicles have issues...

They are making cars too dependent on electronics. Its getting harder and harder to check everything to make sure everything works properly. I know you need electronics to make cars run the way they do these days, but i think if you dont need electronics in a part of the car then you shouldnt put them there

Thats what i am saying... Toyota is getting bagged on for something that isn't really affecting us. anymore. i have a 2010 Tacoma and The foot pedal gets stuck because of the floor mats? my floor mat is a good couple of inches away from my pedal.

its funny that you never see gm's recalls on the news, while all these toyota recalls are happening, ever single cobalt and g5 that was sold were being recalled for power steering failure.

I was going to make the same point.... why is there a computer controlling anything between the steering wheel and my front wheels? Is anything truly mechanical anymore? The fact that a computer can adjust my steering wheel's connection to the wheels of the car is nuts to me.

Good points made by all about the publicity of Toyota recalls vs. GM recalls. I still trust Toyota/Honda more than GM/Ford/Chrystler.

Do you mean that there's always an electronic/computer connection b/w the steering wheel and the rack? Mechanical connections are fine and dandy.

(Please forgive me if what I say makes no sense... I'm not a mechanic.)

And if the power steering fails on a dodge ram 2500 and it's -35ºC out good luck getting that fucker to turn. Took 4 guys to move that steering wheel and another ram pulling in the right direction to get it to move. Boo!

I can't wait to sell my 08 Tacoma. Quality and service are steadily declining...aren't they making them in Mexico now. I mean the reason these trucks cost as much as they do despite not having many fancy features is that they are susposed to be a far superior quality...

If I ever do buy a Tacoma again it would probably be a 1st gen, doesn't have all the bells are whistles but is built 100x better and tougher.

The cost of a tacoma is not much more then any other comparable truck from a different company. If you want to pay more for quality then you would be paying somewhere around the line of double what you paid, and you would get better quality. Unfortunately no high end companies make trucks. What I am trying to say is think of this way, your comparing a tacoma to any other truck its not like your comparing a porche, to a camaro.
