    $248 a month for my 08' Tacoma... sold it 2 years later (for $2000 less then I paid for it new) Got an absolute great deal on an 07 Silverado, year later sold the Silverado for my new 11' Tacoma.. payments are $182... I think I made out pretty good!

    Same here. I never pay more than what I have on hand. Write a check and take the title home. Some of these monthly payments and extended terms are nuts, IMO. And I always dicker for a good used one....w/a few scratches if I can get em, just so I don't have to worry about it!

    Paid off as of 10 months ago.

    OTD for $25k in 08
    Finished paying it off in January 2011.

    College = $41,325 per yr X 4 = $165,300
    Navy Scholarship = -$165,300
    Truck = $25,000

    Yup, saved my parents about $140k. They will be forever indebted to me! Just kidding.

    I don't understand how there is such a fluctuation in payments? Can someone with experience tell me why? Does it all have to deal with your credit score and stuff like that? What determines your interest rate?

    I know they're are different term loans and that is significant, but how do you get a great monthly payment like ^$375/month @3.9%, while some have like $650/month @10+%?

    i believe it has to do with the higher payments will pay off faster so a higher interest rate will make the loaning company more money where as the lower payment with lower interest rate will still make the company money because of how many months they have to pay, interest is built up off of how much your remaining debt is, not off of your monthly payment.

    so if your payment is about 350 a month with 4.0% i would suggest paying 50-100$ more to keep the interest that is built up from actually taking away from your payment.

    Me i pay 650 a month but my payments are supposed to be in the 500's by paying extra i keep my interest debt down and more of my payment actually goes to paying off the truck.

    i may be wrong with some stuff but thats how i see it, correct me if im wrong
