Why I hate Fords.......

Subject vehicle 1999 Super Duty F-350. Lifted with a programmer. I had to install an extra tranny cooler for a friend. O.M.G.! We had to virtually pull the entire front end off the stupid truck to install it. Then my buddy swallowed some coolant when he was under the truck pulling off the lower hose ( nothing a good puke couldnt fix). The landscapers blew the bolts everywhere when they were mowing his lawn. Told him we couldnt rout the new lines along the frame, as there was no room. He didnt belive me. He routed the lines along the frame, drank more coolant, puked again, then realized I WAS RIGHT. Routed the lines in the propper direction. Then as I was leaning in the engine bay checking clearance on the new lines, the friken hood closed on me. All said and done a 2 hour job took 4.5!
Ugh........I hate Fords..........

Although I gotta insert a positive Ford story here-my Dad's '72 Ranch Wagon. Special-ordered in '71 for the Fire Chief of Itasca, Ill. where I grew up. The Fire Chief went with a Galaxie instead so my Dad got a deal. Tough wagon! Dad had his own meat market and at one point he got mad at the delivery prices he was being charged by a trucking co. to deliver his quarters of beef so he went and put springloaded shocks on that sucker and did his own runs (trucking co. lowered Dad's charge after 2 months) Then in '77 it took our family of four from Illinois to California without a squeek. Then it lost compression in one cylinder (famous for fords) and Dad gave it to my Sis and she drove it 'till it died in 87.

My Uncles drove the same kind! Had some cool lights on the roof. The back seats look REALLY uncomfortable, though.

My Dad bought a new Ford in 1998. It was a F-250 4x4. Nice looking truck! He pulled up in the driveway one day, and when he shifted it to park, the shifter flew out of the driver side window ( wich was down at the time). He took it to Ford, and they told him it was "abuse". He told them it was bull**it. It was the last Ford he ever owned.

Ah the Crown Vic...public servant extraordinaire-Police, taxi, Municipal Dignitary transporter, Fire Chief cruiser. With all those years of THAT level of expectation-I'm SURE Ford puts considerably more engineering and quality into the Crown Vic than most of its siblings

When I was in colege I drove a Ford escort pony. It was the bottom of the bottom line. It vibrated so bad, I thought I was driveing a paint shaker. And the wipers would activate at will.

that could explain why the old dead lined ones are still able to be auctioned off to the 'hood for an extra large set of rims and new paint scheme

Hmph.

My Dad had two Ford trucks that he beat the piss out of and they ran flawlessly for him. Only reason He sold them was because of gas.

I'm probably the only person on here who likes Fords?

My parents owned a couple of Ford products, a 72 Ford Maverick and a 76 Ford Granada. The maverick was not a bad little car, its just the heater never worked. Even after numerous trips to the service department. The Granada was a different story. AC never worked right, paint chipped away after about a year, tranny broke after a few years. Biggest POS I've ever seen.

Hey Dahui-no I guess hate is a strong word to use here because I know MOST of us have a Ford story in our life one way or another....
