Im installing some phones in our work trucks that give gps directions and let our guys clock in using the phone. They are hard wired into the truck with a battery eliminator. This one is a 2011 Tundra TRD. It has two power outlets in the dash but both are ignition switched. I tried the cargo lamp light but when i tap into the constant it shorts it out and the cargo lamp stays on. Also this wire is like a 16 gauge maybe even 18 gauge wire and im not sure if it could even carry the 12v needed.

Can anyone think of another wire i could try?
