What the heck is this thing?

    work beast '06 reg cab 4 cyl 5 spd
    Its mounted next to the glove box, to the right. I can't seem to puzzle out the function of this particular doohickey.

    Cylindrical, mounted on a floppy swivel so it can pivot (as shown). The location and appearance (hard plastic shell) don't seem to scream out any real apparent function.

    I give. What the hell is it?

    (2006 2wd 5spd 4cyl standard cab)

    It's this. In the first pic, you can see the two-pronged clip "above" it that it attaches to. It's totally crap engineering, as it falls off all the time and the clip doesn't want to maintain rigidity.
    I wish I had a picture of an '06 Accord glove box, they did a far superior job :mad:
