Check out the above link. The recall last week involving the 8 Toyota models has now prompted Toyota to suspend sales of these vehicles due to faulty gas pedals. This does not involve the recall for floor mats.

because we have already been recalled for the floor mats.. This is for the entire gas pedal assembly getting stuck

This is sure going to hurt Toyota, financially.

I talked to toyta today in the service department and they said the floormat thing is crap. if you bring it in they just put a smaller gas pedal on it or cut the pedal. The new recall is freaking alot of people out they said, everybody and their mom is coming in saying there car is doing weird stuff now. It is like if you tell some I think your getting sick .. then they think they are sick

My folks have an 08 Camry and its on there. In-laws have an 09 Rav-4 its on there too.

Our other car is an 08 Matrix which doesnt appear to be affected, for now... I assume it wont be as the Matrix was redesigned in 09'. We bought one of the last new 1st gens for this reason.

Reminicient of the claims against Audi in the 80s. Nothing was ever proven faulty, well except the nuts behind the wheel. Everyone was coming out of the woodwork that it was the cars fault when any accident occurred. Who knows how much revenue they lost.....

Yeah I'm sure hope it is an easy fix and doesnt hurt them too bad, Toyota is an awesome company and it would suck for them to have to start saving pennies here and there through shotty parts and labor just because this hurt them financially.

You know thats what happens, big companies take a big hit and then they have to find all areas where they can cut back to try and get back on top. I just hope it isnt that big of a hit, they are one of the last companies that makes quality vehicles that last a long time and hold their value.

    I'll be praying for Toyota:)
