    Canada Shipping:

So we finally got a decent quote on shipping, only to find that we are not allowed to ship products in to canada because of trade agreements with toyota. If we do this we will be in major trouble. What I would suggest is that you arrange to have your items shipped to a TW member who can then forward them on to you.

It uses a high flow trd air filter but that's not the main reason for a CAI. It's to get colder air into the engine.

Well a good amount more. You going from the fender in to a larger diameter inlet that will then go through a larger and much much more efficient filter then in to the motor. I would say all in all the little things add up.

I know for myself up here at altitude I had a solid 5-10% increase in gas mileage. When your truck is starving, anything helps.

    Questions about CAI's:

Do you use these types of filters on the 2.7 prerunners or is this only for the v6 4.0 engines?

I read the thread on how it changes the sound... are you talking about the sound from stock exhaust? what sound diffference, louder?

    Thanks

The intake is for the 4.0's. If you want to you can purchase a drop in filter for your 2.7 that will help a little and run you around $60 but will save you from having to buy new filters.

    Hi Josh,

OK - Thanks for the reply. Do you know if the drop in filters are made by Toyota and will it also increase fuel mileage?

I would suggest not going with toyota and going with a company like afe. They make filters you do not have to oil so it wont mess up your maf or anything. Basically you just drop the filter in and wash it with soap and water every oil change. Super easy and worth every penny.

I cant really say on the gas miles if it helps. I did a cai and drop in filter at the same time so not sure if one helped more than the other. I have heard mixed votes on that subject and I am sure you can fine 100 threads on here comparing them.

But I would say if its going to process a % more air, than even if its not really noticeable then your still getting a % better. Plus you dont have to buy filters any more saving you some $$

Ya, when the thread first started I had almost 30 people interested, but I think a mix of thread crappers and people not feeling that its cheap enough, and not being able to ship to canada... well it just means alot dropped out. HOpefully we can get ten but if not I did my best.

Makes sense, it's worth a shot. I just added the link to the GB to my signature so we will see if that gets us anyone else.

Definitely interested, let me see if I can talk my wife into letting me spend the money on it. Thanks again for putting this together, hopefully this hasn't discouraged you from group buys altogether. Sounds like tw has a good thing going here.
