Oh cool! Really all I need to know is the width at the widest point, and width at the frame rails. Looks like it is a non issue though!

Picked up my laser cutting today on my way home from a trip to the sand dunes!!!

Light bar worked great, I even hit a few things with it and had zero issues.

    Here are the laser parts:

how would you say these would hold up in an accident, say up to 10-15 mph? I dont know much about materials, but if you were to make it out of tubing that you'd use for sliders, wouldn't that make it pretty solid?

Hard to say about accidents, there are a lot of variables, what you are hitting, how fast they are going, at what angle, etc... but I know it will hold up great when in the dirt, if you hit a rock or branch in the trail, or someone slides against your bumper in the parking lot, no issue.

For material and the engineering behind plate and tubing... The risers which are made from 1/4" plate are way stronger than the tubing equivalent. The material is much thicker, and the way they are made, there are no bends in the material, unlike tubing which loses some of it's strength when you bend it. The rest of the bumper that is made of tubing is 0.120 wall, which is very close to 1/8". It is the same thickness you would use to make sliders, so you can expect that it will stand up to the same amount of abuse.

Really the weak part of these bolt on bumpers/light bars, not only mine, but any that bolts onto the stock mounts is the tabs on the frame where they bolt to. It is only 1/8" plate, and us not supported well. Then they only use three 7/16 bolts, so there is not a ton of shear strength there. Overall the bumper is much stronger than the mounts, so you will see the factory mounts fail before the bumper does. But for what most of us do, which is part time dirt use, and for added protection on the road from the minor impacts, these things will be great and handle that stuff with only a scratch in the paint!!!

Nice! I have had the worst luck with my current car. Rear-ended twice and slid into a parked car on a snowday as well. People have violated my car too many times, so I want to find ways to protect it where I can. I dont see a full steel replacement bumper in my future at all, but I know a westin bull bar wont ever see the light of day on my truck when I get it.

Ya I know how you feel about other people messing up your nice stuff... I think this would be great for what you described. I am giving one of these to my brother in-law for exactly what you are talking about! My goal here is to take the protection to the full potential without cutting things up, or having to lose the stock look. Let me know if you, have more questions, or want one!!!

    These things are looking schweeet! I've owned a 2004 F150 and a 2007
Trailblazer and both have had the paint knocked off the front bumper from
parking in my parking garage at work. Freakin tourist...at least with this
on, I will be able to give them something to remember me by. And it will
all be from the comfort of my office chair thanks to you! Thanks again for
building these things. I'll post some pics as soon as I get it and get it mounted.

Also got a few shots from my dune trip with the prototype, thing worked great. I hit it on some stuff with zero issue, and the lights were in a great position on the truck.

Looks damn good  I like that you incorporated plate into them and not just tubing.

The plate definitely sets it off & sets it apart from all the others.
