Yeah no problem. I mean im sure they are both going to be super bright, just 5k might be a little less, which i might be willing to sacrifice for the whiter/bluer color but im not completely sure yet

OK, I was about to get in on GB #9, but chickened out because I'm worried about aftermarket headlight assemblies quality. I want to buy an extra set of assemblies so I don't have any downtime, but I do not want them to fog up/oxidize within a few months of installing. Does anyone have recommendations for good 1st gen aftermarket assemblies? Or a place to buy cheap OEM ones?

Depo makes the best aftermarket headlights, but make a WTB thread in the B/S/T section. Im sure someone has a pair laying around

This is all new to me, but improving lighting is all good! Will this fit my 2012 Tacoma?

Once you have them put back together, make sure to seal the headlight assy with some clear silicone (GE II) and also wax the lens...that helps with the oxidization and yellowing due to the UV rays

Yes it will, but you will have to open your lights up to put the projectors in...not a big deal, it's a pretty simple retrofit (if you go with the mini H1 or D2S). The Fx-R is a little bit more labour intensive as you will have to cut your reflector bowl to fit the bigger projector.

Regular online price for the Mini H1 full kit is about $270 and this would be all I need to convert my stock 2012 Tacoma, correct? Trying to get an idea of what this might actually cost before I comit to the GB.

that plus if you get the resealing glue...which I would suggest, unless you can find it locally for cheaper

If he gets the mini Gatling gun shrouds they screw right on to the projector nothing extra needed. That would defiantly be the easiest way to go. Its a good idea everyone should probably hop on this group buy now that we know how easy it all is!:D

So I mentioned earlier that I might sell my FX-R kit from round 9... well I changed my mind. Gonna go through with the install. Using my OEM housing  so wish me luck! My question though: I have the 09-11 sport housing so the factory shroud is smoked vs all chrome like other years and models... I want to color match the bowl and projector shroud to the oem smoke shroud. Anyone have any suggestions on color to try or where I might even begin. It almost looks like a "black chrome" to me which it may in-fact be, or just a metallic silverish grayish maybe :notsure: any ideas/suggestions?

Someone managed to do just that. Let me see if I can find the thread. I think it was a Nightshades product if I'm not mistaken and it was just that, black chrome. The thread I'm thinking of, someone converted regular chrome bezels to look like the OEM smoked bezels. If I find it, I'll throw it up. I also don't remember seeing how it turned out or held up.
