We just slid ants tent back about an inch on the bed rack and the rods clear now.

 

Update: We are leaving Moab later today. Mike your Mt Ranier is in a box on my bed rack pics soon

 

Thanks, can't wait to get my hands on it, even though I won't have a chance to unbox it till next weekend.

Let me know when you think you'll be passing through MD and I can come meet you on the road so your trip back from Moab isn't any longer than it needs to be.

Hey, what are those straps inside for? I couldn't figure it out.

Lisa: Thanks for the tip, got the awning over the cab up, although it needs a little more tweaking.

Got my ladder supports on and holes drilled. If I wasn't sitting on a slope, I might have taken a nap inside.

 

To assist in getting up the ladder if need be.

 

The straps if I remember right help collapse the tent into itself and keep it all contained as you're folding it up. Very handy.

 

those are the bungee cords. The straps are probably the two inside the tent that have grab handles on them to aid in entering/exiting the tent.

I only know because Bobby told us when he delivered the tents.

 

lol, i only know this because when i set my tent up in our shop, the ladder almost slipped out and that was the thing i grabbed.

On that note. Make sure your ladder is on a rough surface. If you feel the ladder is going to slip out, strap it to your truck. I strapped mine to my wheel for extra precaution.

Well, that is anticlimactic. We thought that might be the case, but it didn't seem right. Not sure how well they would work for that.

Has anyone drilled extra ladder holes just in case the ground is not quite level? Thinking I should do that, but not too many.

My free gift was not working so well, so I did some work there as well. I had to solder some of the internal connections to get my "Innovation Lights whieh are the currency in the field"[sic] to work better. Now most of them light up instead of just some. I may just use it for a night-time Frisbee. But I would probably just get another knot on the head.

A sex stone* will work pretty good at keeping the ladder in place, too.
