Theoretically you could just leave the tarp unzipped and Velcro it down really well.

I wouldn't.... my velcro has come undone before. Always fun pulling over on the highway and climbing up the truck to get the straps reattached.

Bobby mentioned the idea of only putting up the 3 sides and leaving the tarp on for annex+tarp for us 4 siders

So you guys have a wall against the truck? That seems inconvenient for opening the truck doors (if its mounted on the roof)

But I guess if you were trying to keep bugs out, that would be necessary

It's actually a huge zip-able door on mine (McKinley). Best of both worlds I say. It's crazy convenient being able to access the bed like that and still be able to close it up right when the heaters running.

I just got around to using my tent for the first time last weekend.

It had some parts with it that I can't figure out where they go.
2 pieces of aluminum track, each has a 45* bend on each end. The parts are approx 18" long. Any idea where they go?

They are braces for the ladder - I think they were piced installed a few pages back. They go from the sides of the ladder to the underside edge of the tent

Is your tent yellow or is it just the light? Also, your rear bumper is sweet! Who made that?
