Do some FX-Rs and forget about those poor OEM R32 HIDs!

If you try to order and have issues, hit me up directly and I'll help out. Andrew@theretrofitsource.com!

Here's my retrofit that I finished a couple weekends ago. (thanks to Rich91710 for his help)

For those on the fence... this is a no brainer. The GB price is a no brainer... I got the basic kit and it was like $225 shipped and comes with everything you need. Projector... HID bulb and ballast... glue... harness... definitely worth the price.

On installation, I never baked off a headlight before but if you are careful, you'll be fine. A couple of "more advanced" things that you need to do (aim and adjust cut off and trimming down the locking ring - if you have a 12+) but all in all...it's not that bad.

What kit did you go with? If you went with the D2S how is the light output? I want to get the FX-R but I am afraid of cutting the housing, aiming the projector, only to find out after the epoxy is hardened that its crooked. I was looking at the D2S since the installation looks easier but not sure about the light output. Thanks in advance

D2S just describes the bulb type. Your options would be either the FX-R projector or the Morimoto Mini with either a D2S or a H1 bulb. I ran the Morimoto minis and the install is a no brainer. I used D2S bulbs but from what others have said the H1 puts out better light with the Morimotos.

My bad, I ment the between the FX-R and the Morimoto Mini. As far as the bulb I was looking at the D2S (since alot of people been using that) but maybe I should be doing a little reserch on the H1. Thanks.

Mini H1 is not as good as the FX-R nor as difficult to install.

It's a tradeoff of sorts: performance vs. ease of installation.

Andrew, do the H1 bulbs out put more light than the D2S bulbs? Is the installtion for the H1 kit th same as the D2S? As far as going with the FX-R, its out of my league for installation. The projector housin looks different on the H1 than the D2S kit (am I mistaken). The link for the installation guide (H1) doesn't seem to be working. I've read the installation for the D2S and I think I am capable of doing that installation just wondering if the H1s install the same. Sorry for all the qustions guys...

Capsules are the same, so neither puts out more. The D2S just has more options.

The projectors look pretty similar. Black plastic front, chromed metal bowl rear with the threaded shaft.

The new Mini H1 6.0s just debuted yesterday and perform very well:

    Ordered as well!

Does this mean that we will get the H1 6.0 version even though only 5.0 showed a couple of days ago during the ordering process?

There's not one that's better, but the 3" fills the shrouds better as the shrouds already have 3" holes in them, so it's a better fit naturally.

Group Buy Participants: We will be shipping these orders out starting Monday, however, if you ordered LED rings, those will ship separately later this month once our inventory is replenished at no additional cost. Thank you!
