Personally I wouldn't recommend powder coat. Once you scratch it, you break the plastic coating and that's all you have to protect rust. I rolled mine with valspar anti-rust primer and rustoleum top coat. Bed liner would be ideal but I didn't want to fork out the cash yet.

Just your typical primer and paint for me. Once it gets scratched up, a quick shot of paint will make it almost new again:D.

I was thinking priming followed by walmart bed liner and then paint the liner(I want it yellow) Has anyone painted bed-liner before?

I apologize guys... Work and final exams have me pushed to the limit. I will get invoices done Friday night, and the skid plates will ship Monday, since FedEx doesn't work weekends. Slackers...

For installation, I recommend bolting the front of the IFS skid first and supporting the rear with a board or something. Then bolt the rear of the transmission skid up. Finally the trans skid goes above the IFS skid and both can be bolted to the truck.

    For rack coverage IFS:

When installing your rack coverage skid while still using the sway bar, spacers and longer bolts are included to provide clearance. The spacers are not needed with the sway bar gone. The skid will tuck up tighter to the steering rack without the sway bar.

If I had known that, I wouldn't have ordered the rack coverage. I'm not taking my sway bar off and that loses critical ground clearance.

Is there any way you can re-bend the plate so that the part that interferes with sway bar will miss it?

So sorry, I totally forgot to add that in my OP with the hardware. It's a 3/4" spacer. You don't lose much ground clearance and it's still higher than your pumpkin. But I can take a couple degrees out of the bend, but it might take a day or 2 before I can ship.

I chose to go this route because most people that off road don't have the sway bar, so tucking the skid up tighter to the rack gives better protection if you were to back up into something.

Couldn't agree more. Plus with the bar gone it rides nicer

I'm thinking my bar needs to go now that I have my lift on up front. I'm nervous and excited to feel how it rides without.
