Hey guys, I talked to Calvin at Illumination Supply and he's going to be running a discounted group buy to kick off his light bar/pod business.

Group buy is over. But the code is still active.

Use coupon code TacomaLights for 10% off
    Link to his light bars

    ---How To Order---
To order simply add the light bar or pod you want to the cart and enter the coupon code TacomaLights for the 10% off. It is only valid on items on his light bar page, not site wide.
Also which is good for us, his site has free shipping on any order over $100

If there are more then 15 orders placed. The discount will be raised to 15% off. People who order with the 10% code will be refunded 5% to cover the difference if the discount is raised.

    ---Info About His Lights--

All lights come with a male Deutsch connector attached to the wires.

All his lights have an aluminum housing with an impact-resistant poly carbonate lens, and an IP67 rating which means completely dust tight and water resistant to 1 meter.
His warranty for the lights is a standard 1 year limited warranty covering manufacturing defects.

Feel free to contact Calvin via PM on here or PM me if you have any questions.

For full disclosure I am not affiliated with Illumination Supply.

Thanks for the support. Pretty quiet thread but I can't say I'm surprised due to how new we are. All product suggestions or beam patterns requests are welcome. The products we decided to carry for now are just a small sample for us to test the waters in this sector of the lighting market.

Did you have a chance to test out the lights on your truck yet? I would appreciate any and all feedback.

what is the flood/ spot pattern? degree? also, what makes this light brighter or higher rated than other Cree lights rated at 9600 lumens?

    thx!

Hi TRDBeast, I'm afraid I don't understand what you are asking by what the flood/spot pattern is. The manufacturer stated degrees for flood and spot vary by product but for the Double Row 20" 40" I'm told they are 90 degrees for Flood and 8 degrees for spot. If this actually translates to real world numbers is debatable. The lights I currently have are in a combo spot/flood beam pattern.

How the 40" achieves the combo pattern is having different reflectors for each group of 4 LEDs, the combo 40" has 4 groups in flood pattern, 2 on each end of the light bar. All the other LED groups in the center are in the spot configuration.

The 20" light bar has a similar setup but only one group on each side with a flood pattern while the rest in between are in the spot pattern.

The 6" light bar I carry is in the flood configuration at 90 degrees.

The 2x2 pods come in spot or flood at 8 or 90 degrees.

As for what makes this light brighter, it doesnt. The majority of lights released in this market seem to market RAW lumens output. This is hardly the actual out the front (OTF) lumens that I am more accustomed to in the handheld flashlight market. Raw lumens are the theoretical output a light can give off based on the number of LEDs and a given amp rating to state it simply.

To test actual OTF lumens requires very expensive equipment that most people do not have. Since LEDs are my main business I decided to calculate the RAW lumens myself given the data from the manufacturer, this explains why my numbers vary from other people in either the +/- direction. A very rough way to translate RAW lumens to OTF lumens is to subtract anywhere from 5-15% lumens to account for driver inefficiencies and other factors. Light bars in this market do not seem to adhere to the ANSI FL1 standard.

I hope this answered some of your questions and feel free to ask me more :)

90 degrees and 8 degrees was the answer thank you.....

Im looking for a larger spot pattern. 20-30 degrees

I think 8 degrees is considered a pencil beam

Manufacturer numbers don't seem to correspond with actual world performance unfortunately. I have some sample photos up as they give you a better idea.

Got my lights yesterday and mounted them today. Shipping was fast even up to Canada and the lights appear to be great. I won't be able to test them for a while though as I go to bed before it gets dark :D
