ya my girlfriends in school still so i was going to have her order it and see what kind of discount she can get. the other thing i'm worried about is all the software i have for drawing up bumpers like cad, and bend tech. i've got all of it backed up on my extrenal hard drive but the main thing is will i be able to pull those files up on a mac

if they were originally on a PC..no. Won't run on a mac. .exe files don't work on Macs.

right. but the actual program is an .exe..it would be a windows app not a Mac..thus not compatible..unless he dual booted.

that said..students can get anything by autocad for free..so your girlfriend could just get he mac version for free..

13" Macbook Pro bought back in June of 2009 for $1,200 including tax, after a $100 off. If you buy online they just ask for your university name but don't check it.

If you have an Apple store nearby schedule a "genius" appointment and bring in all of the questions that you can think of involving your business programs and any others that you might have-- they would gladly answer them.

I've had to replace the battery once (would only hold a charge for an hour or two before dying). Also, the wall chargers are SHIT. They fall apart-- the rubber coating around the wire splits. Other than that no complaints here!

they're a lot of DXF files and some ORD? for the cad drawing software for the water jet.

As for the bumpers, we shipped out 2 last week, I gotta check tomorrow exactly which two they were again so I don't get someone excited to soon :D

Hey does anybody have the exact dimensions of the gap between the tubes of the grill guard on a 2nd gen bumper? I'm trying to see how much room there is, and what's the biggest size LED bar I can fit in there.

Here is a pic of my 20", centered in between.

At the base, it measures ~29.5"
At the top of my light bar it measures ~24.5"

Don't think theres much of a selection between 20 and 30 inches when talking about light bars.
    Hope this helps.

Edit: sorry for the whited out ugly pic

Awesome! Thanks so much for the info. Looks like I'm kinda stuck with a 20 inch. Kinda bummed b/c i have a 32 in the lower grill and i dont really want to step down to 20. Yours looks super clean though.

Need to find an elusive 28" bar:D

Lol, but I like shit BRIIIIIIGHT!!!
Considering throwing the 32 on the roof. But I really don't want to deal with glare off the hood. Plus wiring is a PITA.

Verrrrry iiiiinteresting. I'll have to look into that.

It's really easy and doesn't mess anything up on the Apple side. BUT I wouldn't use Windows 8. It's garbage. Stick with a stripped down version of Windows 7. Parallels has also made a lot of improvements and works great for me as well. It can also access your Bootcamp partition so you only have to install Windows once. The only down side is you'll still have to get antivirus for Windows in Bootcamp. You can find a free copy of Windows 7 that's been stripped of the unnecessary junk if you're resourceful. Check this out http://www.buildpcs.com/threads/tiny-7-the-best-windows-os-for-and-old-computer.377/
