Marine batteries are arguably better than a standard battery for your vehicle, they have a 'deep cycle' state & it lets you run aux accessories for a longer while & not drain as much.

So I called Sears today, asking about a group 31 for this and they had one! I asked the guy what the damage was and he said $318 dollars
I asked if they price matched and he said yes. So I told him I'd seen it for $250 online. He asked where and I told him.... Sears.com.
"Oh well we can't match that"
"You can't match your own price?"
    "No sir."
"So you'll match anyones prices, except your own?"
    "Yes sir"

    "......okay, bye."

Yeah, I probably will. Just silly that thats the way they have to be. Now I'll order it online, and go pick up the same one they were unwilling to price match haha. Oh well.

Hmm, wonder why Sears is struggling, maybe its the customer service.

Hopefully that same person will be there when you take delivery of the one you ordered online. Keep an eye on the online ad, it changes all the time, I've seen it as low as 229.00 and the 289.00 a couple hours later.

I wonder how detailed their website monitoring is. With all of us constantly watching that battery, they may not be dropping the price with all the traffic it is getting.

I know I have it saved, hoping it will drop. If they had a recent spike in traffic, they might not drop it. If no else that has that specific battery, they don't have to worry about price matching it.

I monitor my companies google analytics, and can see how much traffic each page gets. I am sure their website is significantly more sophisticated with people certified in Analytics monitoring it.

Satin is working through all of the email as quick as she can. Every one has to get a UPS quote etc so it is a bit more tine consuming than most of our standard freight rates. She will get a handful more done each day and we are welding the first few now so we can start shipping these in the next few days.

Once a month there is a 'family and friends' sale on batteries, sundays usually...10% off. I am hoping that is still going on.

I think he is waiting for the j hooks to come in before he starts billing.

On the DieHard 31M battery: I read the reviews on the Sears site, mostly good but a couple complaints of short life.

On the battery price: First time I clicked on the link was Jan 12 and it was $229, ever since it has been $289. What I did was registered a price check where they e-mail me if it goes below $260. As LoadedTaco said, Sears may see us all price checking a couple times a day and be holding the higher price thinking there are 50 of us ready to buy these beasts. I can wait a bit and then look for a simila Optima deep cycle battery if I need to. Is this DieHard really the best in this Type 31 size?
