Thanks for everyones help. I am still on the fence. This is a great thread. I hope after reading and seeing the new models I can get my mind made up.

Monte right? I do read that thread sometimes and have been meaning to introduce myself. We WY people are a rare breed so it's good to have a thread for all 5 (or so) of us to B.S.

    Thanks

    Bryan

I purchased my Mt Hood in last years group buy and to date have yet to even take the annex out of the bag it came in.
Understand though that I have only been solo camping with it - when we go as a family this spring I know I'll be glad I have it.
As far as the overhang... I do kinda wish I went with the McKinley because that would be an excellent bonus in the rain...
Maybe with the new colors coming out I'll have to drive out to Oregon and trade up... :spy:
I really wanted a burgundy one originally. :D

That's not true! I know for a fact you gave your tent to a customer and made your kids sleep on the cold hard top of your trailer. I saw the pictures!

    :p

More seriously, I am like Bobby - I use the annex when the wife is along or I'll be in a given spot for a few days. The extra space is really handy to have.

I had already seen Box Rocket's post and photos. My kids are 15 and 18 year old boys and being away from their parents is always a plus. I already have a few tents and they'd be more than welcome to set them up off to the side or even in a nearby campsite if that would trip their triggers.
