hey all. infra told me u guys were discussing security. heres a pic of what i did
    [IMG]
i used 5/16"x4" eye bolts and matching nuts. put the nut in the rail insert and cover with a piece of duct tape to keep the eye bolt from pushung it out when u go to thread it in, then "x" cut the tape where the bolt will come through the center of the nut. slide inserts into place, insert eye bolts and tighten to the bottom plate. with my bottom plates (the piece of metal with two holes in it) the spacing was almost perfect for a 2 1/2" long shackle pad lock to reach, although i did have to bend the eyebolts in just a tad. u may either need to find a longer shackled pad lock or make your own plates. the zip ties are just to tie up the locks to keep them from rattling around. i plan on welding the eye in the bolts completely shut so any asshole with a pair of channel locks cant just bend them open. you could still cut the bolts but its a damn site more secure now than it was before. good luck:thumbsup:

Guys the message I got from bobby was

    "-Quote (Originally by gshadow325)---

    Steven located in 19131
    Thanks
    ---End Quote---

    Good morning Steve,

Once I have it all figured out then I will start hooking people up.

    Thanks again,"

So I went ahead and order it. I personally think like this, regardless if I can split shipping with someone,I still want it. If bobby can put me together with someone else and save great, I get a partial refund on the shipping, great. If not I'm still OK with getting it. I figured bobby would ship first ordered first out. I am figuring Bobby would have a few hundred of these going out. So major headache trying to do 30-40% of your annual business in one month! Mountains of messages, tons of phone calls, and gazillion PayPal payments. Oh I can only imagine

Thanks for doing this Bobby. I will eagerly wait for my tent and continue planning this summer's outings with my new rack and RTT. I have 3 planned, one in the beginning, middle and end of the summer so far.

Interesting. I'd be worried about two things: first, what if you're not on flat ground? How to do you get it level? And second, I'd be worried that some stupid cow would think its a scratching post, lean against it and knock it over. LOTS of areas in MT are free range for cattle in the summer and they can wreak havoc on an unattended campsite.

First off Lisa we sell an additional hot wire kit..lol When the cows rub it shocks and takes care of the cow. This is how we get camp meat! It is a lot sturdier than you think. Lol...That is one thing I do not see when I am camping. I thought about the squirrels rubbing and the problems they would cause now I have to think about cows.....

I hope you lose sleep over this.
My family has lost many a folding chair over the years to the cows. The utility companies have little barbed wire fences installed around any junction boxes, etc. to keep them protected.

Lol... I am just giving you a bad time. It is just one thing I have not come across out camping. We have a lot of open range I guess we are fortunate not to run into them.
