Just installed one for a member today. My idea is for 4 neodymium magnets. Epoxy one on either side of the inside edges of the plate. on the trim. Take the whole piece off and epoxy one on either side of the INSIDE of the trim so the plate matches up and is secure. No bouncing around or fitment issues.

Only thing I think I would change on these is the edges finished a little better so they aren't sharp. Chamfered or slightly rounded or crowned edges.

Square or rectangle magnets in N52 is my idea. K&J Magnets

You should see the edges when I get them from the water jet! I have a few good cuts while deburring them.

I can finish them a bit better but the more time I spend making them the more I have to charge.

It's all relative I guess, if everyone wants a better finish and they don't mind paying more I can do that.

I thought about magnets as well, using some aluminum angle to support the back and magnets.

Trim pieces worked great and holds it in place super snug. Using it on the top/bottom made it too tight and it didn't really look as well. Sides look good though...

What sucks is you can see the scratches along the side of the cubby entrance when I was installing switches and had it resting there...:( Oh well...trail damage...lol Must be from those sharp edges Skygear was mentioning...:D

LOTS of wiring, dual battery setup, Solar charging system, with some random lights spread around here and there.
I ended up using a file to deburr the edges before paint sine i had some pretty sharp ones. Skygear I'll try your idea for the magnets when I install mine. Any suggestions on type of epoxy?

    Manual Update!

I met with ffdawson last night to measure up the manuals. I have a good idea to make some samples for manuals, BUT it seems like there are two different manual cubbies. One has a step and one has a radius.

ffdawson's has a radius like this:
    IMG_0404_e4e5a47a5b82fb933cf94711945927b8d1c65141.jpg

But some have a step like this:
    4b58686c80e8cf639f50f3dc38d000d5_8ec30d31fbcef8ccdfaceae5360143dae05d3e19.jpg

So what I'd like to know is those with manuals, who are interested in buying one, let me know which one you have and the year of your truck.

I think the difference your seeing is between the v6 6spd guys and the 4cyl 5spd trucks. So I would think there would be more demand for #1 the 6spd.
That being said I have a 6spd so I want one for cubby#1

That makes a lot more sense! Well #1 is what I'm having a sample cut to test fit right now.
