One pack will cover a first and second Gen Dc adequately but as i said there is 10 sheets of say 2 foot by 2 foot. So it also depends how much coverage your looking to do. IF you want to cover " just about " all of the cab's problematic spots you would need 2 pack, which essentially covers most of the interior.

This stuff is super thick, and is rather heavy due to the density and quality of the materials used. You only need one layer, its super sticky as well so time spent doing this job is rather fast. I had to double and triple layer some areas of my truck prior to shok that now only took 1 layer. Ill get an EXACT KG weight for you shane

Wow, nice. That makes it 50% more dense than DynaMat Xtreme and 75 cents cheaper per square foot. Would you be willing to make a stress test video for us? Put a 1x1 sample on a piece of sheet metal and let it sit in the hot sun for a few hours, maybe. Let it sit in the freezer for a few hours, too. Soak it with water, spray some wd40 on it just so show that it's bond to the metal cannot be weakened with temperature or permeated by solvents. That would sell me on this stuff.

Actually, I just re checked my math and I missed a step. It's about 40% LESS dense than DynaMat but you get 50% more weight per square foot with shok mat due to it's much higher thickness.

No. This stuff is still better than DynaMat. More weight per square foot means more particles regardless of density, and mat based sound deadening really comes down to adding weight so that sound waves and other vibrations will not transfer or permeate thin surfaces like metal or plastic and cause audible rattles or vibrations. It also acts as an acoustic barrier which is where density comes into play a little bit but both of the butyl rubber compounds used in DynaMat and shok deadener are VERY dense to begin with, so the difference for that purpose is almost negligible.

However, while mat deadener is the cornerstone of any good sound deadening setup, to eliminate road noise you will want a high density foam and a layer or two of mass loaded vinyl. These are what really stop the low frequency road noises from coming through.

I hear what your saying and based on what your asking, there is enough out there that people can attest and the tests have been done ill just have to dig it up. The biggest complaint about this deadener is that its TO STICKY. Our adhesive is like no other!
