It's been extended until all trans temp support is completed. Toyota used to be really good about getting back to us with these type of questions but lately they must have assigned everyone to fix the gas pedal issues and no one left for vendor support. I have not heard from them in almost 4 weeks.

    Todd,

Goodluck with the Tacoma you found at that dealer...

Just take it for a really really long test drive so you can test it out with the Interceptor:D

    I'm sure they won't mind...

Goodluck and can't wait to here any updates you might have figured out for the trans temps

Thanks again for all that your doing for a fix for us

    Todd,

Any luck with the transmission temp issue on the interceptor?

Were you guys able to test the gauge out with that Tacoma from the dealership in your area?

    Thanks for any updates...

Got mine in and mounted on a Loteck dash pod (top gauge) along with a Whistler radar detector.

    Works great!

    Update:

We've had a 2010 4.0L Tacoma here in our shop twice, but nothing has worked yet. None of our commercially available scan tools show any trans parameters on these trucks, so I have no idea what Toyota is doing. The Toyota documents explicitly state how to access this but it is clearly wrong. We belong to an organization of automotive tool manufacturers and none of them are having any luck either and Toyota is not responding to any requests for info since the brake thing went down.

If anyone knows of any scanner that supports trans temp on these please post what it is.

    Todd,

A question on adjusting the HP setting to correct MPG for tire size. I have larger sized tires (about 7%). So would I adjust the hp seting up 7% or down 7% (107 vs 93) to get a correct reading?

Also, are there parameters I have to monitor so the annunciator alerts off mpg or is that not possible?

    Todd,

    What about the 05-06 Pre-Runner's

Same outcome or have you not test one yet?

Thanks for any update on the 2wd tacoma trans temps

Let's see, the larger tires will cause your speed to read low by 7%, so the mpg would be low by 7%. Therefore, decrease the HP correction by 7% (93) to increase the mpg calc. by 7%.

    Todd,

I'm DEFINITELY interested in purchasing an Interceptor if all "listed" parameters are available for a 2005 Tacoma, 4x4, 4.0L V6 w/5spd AT. As most, I'm particularly concerned with Transmission Temp(s).

Congrats on a GREAT product! :proposetoast:

BTW: I'm assuming the GB is still on hold due to the late model issues?

    Billyjoe,

You have a 4x4 so the Interceptor should read your trans temps with no problems...

It's us guys with the 2wd Pre-Runner's that are out of luck:(

The GB is on hold until everything is figured out with the years in question, 2005/6, and 2009/10. I tried a 2006 Tundra today with 4.7L and it also did not work, seems to be consistent with the 2005/6 truck model years. I did however get trans temp to work using a software program that I have, so now it's just a matter of figuring out the codes. This is a positive step and should resolve the matter for these years soon.

    Todd,

    I can't wait! :)

This is the coolest product I've seen like it - the competition (Scangauge II, DashHawk, etc.) can't hold a candle to you guys! Especially with aux analog sensor capability and relay output control - simply awesome! :D

BTW, I didn't see any mention on your website of "Peak" reading storage or "Valet" mode (Scangauge II features). Does the Interceptor have a similiar feature(s)?

Don't know what valet mode is. We don't have the peak recall for two reasons: we have the record feature instead, so you can see the peak and everything else within a certain time period. Second, with two buttons there is only so much functionality we can give these. They have two functions, to scroll to the next parameter one at a time, or if you hold the button down scroll quickly through parameters until you release it. Press and hold will recall peak values on our Analogic gauge, because it doesn't display anywhere near as many parameters, thus the automatic scrolling isn't needed. If we got rid of the fast scroll we could add peak recall. I'd fear then that we'd get complaints that it takes too long to get through a long list of parameters. I don't know, I can see the benefit of both. It's a tough call.
