Vibration is probably the #1 reason...and yes the truck does have low miles, just turned 50k last weekend. But 23k of that has been put on by me over the last few years, most of those miles were added on dirt roads.

It was tough to get a good alignment before, crappy shocks and all. But ever since I had it aligned post-suspension install its been great, I don't think I've ever had a vehicle track as straight as my truck does now. Everything was fine until last night. Just one of those things I suppose.

No jumping...I swear. I try to keep all 4 tires on the road at all times.

Hell, I didn't know what it was until a few weeks ago, thanks to some bro-cumentary videos on TW. You can learn so many valuable things on this site....

Man, I just got worried Lisa was going to show up and get all whiney about threadjacking her thread, but then i realized hey, what the hell, this is my thread! As far as I am concerned, I am on topic.

So steve o, did you finsh your trailer with the used leafs? I was wondering if you accounted for the offset/different height L/R springs. I was worried your trailer might try to keep heading off into the ditch when you drove in a straight line. :notsure: But then I thought, no, he is way smarter than that. You are, right?

Trailer has been done for a little over a month now. Its even registered!:D I ended up flipping the overload leafs because they were way to weak to support the weight of the skis.

We took it down to the lake (about 300 mile round trip) about a month ago and it did great, tracks perfectly straight.

I still had the terrible helper springs on their for the lake trip, they were bent pretty good on the drivers side by the time we got home lol.

Back home. You can see how much the drives side is sagging in this pic:

:sorry: I'm usually really paranoid about taking care of my vehicles...I can't believe that that happened to me. I'm almost ashamed... Scared too, I was looking at some pics I took of my truck towards the 1st of August and I can't be 100% sure but I can't see at least one of the bolts in the pic. So I think I've been driving around for at least a month with 1 missing and I've put on close to 2,000 miles in August.

You'd think something that is such a critical component like the bolts would be...more reliable, I guess. I mean, who checks every nut and bolt on a vehicle? Regularly!

BTW...60ft/lbs is recommended on those babies!

I didn't have my torque wrench, so we used the Polish torque wrench.. crank on 'em until you nearly pull your arm out of the socket. :D Elbow clicks, you're good.

Glad nothing worse happened. I am surprised the threads didn't get screwed up.. that's good though, no drill and tap crap.

Less than 500 miles after driving my pass side is sagging an inch. Defective materials? They were ok when first installed, but maybe got a weak/defective spring?

My original leaf packs looked the same if not a tad better than the pass side after 141k miles! I replaced the hanger bolts, everything else looked ok, this is a "4" pack.

Wow. You can see that the passenger side has less curve than the drivers even in the pics. I went with the 5-packs but mine haven't settled at all. My new packs are just slightly arched up in the front and have a good amount of curve in the rear but yours look to be almost flat.

I was going to say check your shocks - if a busted shock could cause a lean like that - but from the pictures there is something funky going on with those leaf springs. No help from me, sorry! I would be in touch with Wheeler's pronto to see what can be done.

You put any serious weight in the truck recently? Possible to have a defective leaf pack I suppose, but it looks like something overloaded that side of the truck... really fat friend maybe? :D

OK, I don't have the actual leaf measurements in front of me, so I can remember which one is longer/higher (when i put mine on the bench, one is fully an inch higher than the other), but I just want to eliminate the really dumb question: You are positive that you did not accidentally install them on the wrong sides? (driver vs. passenger). If the shorter spring was put in on the "long" side of the truck, it might hold up for a while but then sag noticeably? Just a thought to investigate...

Otherwise, I'd be on the horn to Wheeler's about a defective spring and PM Dan with these pics, too.

if they were installed reversed then wouldn't the passenger side be higher and not lower?

Shocks are good, even have 5100s in the front. Tried contacting wheelers, their response was to send pictures and if the measurements lined up (hanger bolt to the ground on both sides within 1/2 inch), dan said my trucks frame was damaged. LOL good one! Almost made me laugh. Next step was to have both springs removed and send pictures in of them off the truck, (which is excessive).
Tried calling a few times but no answer, ill let the credit card company deal with it.

The only thing I carried was no more than 500 lbs from a set of wheels/tires. I believe it must be a weak leaf, it was fine when installed and following thereafter.
    LOL

Yes the shop installed them correctly, as I was there and verified. Part numbers on the spring ending in the letter that corresponds to the side that it belongs on (R/L), (unless the springs were mislabeled)

Just for kicks, have you had the frame checked since the sag happened? There is a possibility that it's twisted if it has rusted out somewhere. You may not see it looking at the frame from underneath.. would have to go to a frame shop to have them check it. Cheaper to have the dealer smack it with a hammer.. lol
