    Hey Janster!

Unfortunately the aFe filter prices have gone up in the last couple months.

on my previous vehicles it seemed that drop in filters yielded more over a CAI set up, CAI always seemed to kill the bottom end power, so it seemed to me.

I know this is a 2nd gen offering, but if this filter is available for the 3.4 as well, I might be interested.

I don't need to get in on the GB since I already have one, but just FYI I'm getting a 2-3mpg increase since installing it. Average 17-18mpg per tank before, and now it's consistently 20-20.5mpg with a couple 19's here and there.

I'm a little curious as to why the price went up $25 though! I got mine for $44 with free shipping from Ultimate truck, but then something like 2-3 weeks later it was $69! WTF?!?

I just filled up, all in town driving getting 17.8 mpg this tank. I have the AFE drop in oil free, secondary filter removed, and just recently installed a Dynomax Super Turbo muffler #17731.

I got my AFE from Ultimate for $44 including shipping right after getting the truck and before the big price increase.

The last tank before the muffler was around 16.5 mpg but most have been 17-18 mpg. Also I've kinda been romping on the peddle lately, takes so little to entertain us old farts, and seen the same or a slight increase in mileage.

    Will,
Just e-mail their tech support on AFE's cone type oil free filters off of their CAI version. I'm sure they will give you the measurement of the junction of the filter to the intake tube to see if it would match your system. Other wise just put back on the stock air tube and go with the drop in.
