Yes. Springfield mags were unique as they had folded lips on the bottom and were brazed with copper on the rear spine near the top. Here's a better photo of the mag. A lot of the GI pistols were rearsenaled or mixed up in cleaning parties. Still desirable IMHO. Thanks for the compliment.

Thank you! Most folks already know, but Springfield Inc. of current vintage has no connection with the Springfield Armory owned by the government and which produced arms for our soldiers. They no longer do so and the building is now a museum. This example was produced in 1915.

Hey Sandman, the XDM came in that package except for the Streamlight and Surefire. I bought that thing 6 years ago and just added it to the XDM. Springfield gave me two extra mags and a mag pouch after 2 months as part of their promo when they release the XDM in 9mm. That make a total of 4 mags with 19 round cap. Not bad at all.

    Sandman,

I would love to have a Sig in my collection, they are nice pistols. XDs are very decent pistols XDMs are a tad bit more refined IMO and bit more affordable, well in my neck of the woods.

As far as caliber is concerned its entirely dependent on several factors:
    1. How well you shoot with it. Some (not all) claimed 9 mm is more manageable than 40 SW, .45 ACP so on and so forth. I am a 45 cal guy but I had a 40SW once upon a time and in the end I ended liking the 45. My XDM 9mm is just to have diversity in my collection.
Of course the debate between shot placement and stopping power comes into play.

    2. Availabilty of ammo. 9mm is very common and cheaper. 40 SW sometimes there are boxes of these in our local stores sometimes none, and they cost more.

    3. This might not be a thing to consider, are you going to reload your own ammo someday? 9mm is very easy to reload but the 40SW is an odd round and personally reloaders try to steer away from that round.

Try renting guns in a local indoor shooting range and see how it feels shooting. Then you can decide. Good luck and stay safe.

I have shot both and loved them both got pretty good with the .40... And 9mm is better for accuracy "so to speak" as far as reloading is concerned i don't think unwilling ever do it just cuz of school and that it takes so much of my time... U have heard about the P226 that has an interchangeable barrel to shoot both 9mm and .40.... That's what I have been more inclined to get cuz of bein more economical lol... What u think??

I like the looks of that P250 with the interchangeable firing assembly to switch in and out of different frames. Compact for carry and long slide for the range. Not to mention different calibers.

so after some research...turns out this gun was made in 1911...and colt is sending us the letter stating such shortly...this gun may be worth what all my other guns are combined :D...especially since the grips are still factory and everything is still in great shape...the finish is the only thing off...but personally i think it looks awesome

You lucky bastard. I've been looking for one of those for six months; eventually gave up and ended up with an M&P 9c.

(Ignore the gloves; picture was taken as I was getting ready to mod a CTAC holster to fit the 908).

Iram....the 3913s are great handguns. Bought mine new 5 or 6 yrs ago. The 908 you got is basically the same gun the way I understand it.

Yes, but the 908's lacking the checkering on the front of the grip and the accessory rail rail.

I think for carry, the 3913TSW with a small light (Veridian C5L, Insight X2 LED, etc.) would be an ideal carry gun. Thin grip, short overall length, safety, nice trigger pull (as opposed to the 16lb PPS), and a long enough grip you can get 4 fingers on it. Only problem with it is that you'd have to custom build the holsters.

I find that the M&P feels like a fat pig compared to my 908.
