House passes bill to keep creditors from taking guns

The House this afternoon passed a bill that would change the law to allow someone going through bankruptcy proceedings to retain their rifles, shotguns, and pistols so long as they are worth less than $3,000 combined.

Not a real issue before. I work in the industry and unless the individual is completely honest, there is no way for creditors to verify the true extent of his "collection" unless the filer has had it published publically beforehand. Unless subpoenaed, police departments do not release registrations. So a Filer just had to not list it and there was no real way to verify. For a long time here, long goons did not need to be registered, so there was no real way to verify. This change just let's fillers list something they used to hide before.
