    Well his twin sister got her first deer last year and he finally connected with his first. We called him in to 15 yards and he opened the 44 mag up and he only ran 40 yards. This one is tied for my #1 favorite all time harvest.....bet you can't guess which other it's tied with......;)


    side note: first youth harvests always deserve their own thread. My harvests can go in the hunting pic thread. :)

    Thanks alot everyone! I'll get him on here tonight and let him read all the congrats. He'll enjoy that.
    Chris, I read online what most were using, and for the Ruger 77/44, the Hornady LeverRevolution 225 gr was the best shooting according to most people and that's what I went with. It busted the shoulder like nothing and they fly great down range. I just sighted out to 100yds for now. Some have been holding good patterns out to 150-200 supposidly, so next year I'll spend more time and see what it's got out that far.
