the carcass meat is used for coyote bait, its places in a bucket and sets for a week then some big time trapper guys picks it up and uses it.
    some just gets tossed down.
if ya get a tree with 4 big coon and its a 600 yard walk uphill to the truck and you have to lead a dog or two out, those are the ones that get skinned in the feild and left.
that does happen but not often where coon populations are good

    no limit
as for market prices---i do not hunt these for monies, just for the fun of it,also for the good dog work involved.
alot of folks think that folks hunt furbearers for profit--well unlike most everything that is hunted, you can GET something for doing it,
1 is for money which will help keep costs of a kennel of dogs costs in line
2 is many farmers WANT certain critters removed/hunted from their property,so damages arent so high.getting in good with some farmers opens up opportunities for other hunting priveledges.beleive it or not but the lowly oppossum is the main culprit and the coon gets the blame more often than not.
3you can gain a reputation provide a service for removing(mostly live trapping)varmints from other business such as warehouses, food processing companies etc and collect a pretty fair fee by becomeing a liscensed animal control specialist.average price around here is about 70.00 per trapped animal.

i am a serious rabbit hunter, spend plenty of money on gasoline to and from the woods, countless hours of conditioning the hounds as well as travel throughout the states going to feild trails as well as hunting trips---yes for rabbits--from places like georgia, kansas, maine vermont etc ,and i get not a penny for the rabbits other than some stew.all time enjoyed.
i enjoy coonhunting and also like the little bonus ya get at the fur sale every year

this years count so far with the hunting and trapping is at 166
