21st birthday present to myself

After months of research and shooting different weapons i finally bought myself a pistol to go with my concealed carry permit i got on my birthday. A S&W MP9c. Goin out tomorrow afternoon to shoot it. Maybe some squirrel huntin as well with the ol .22

Nice choice! I liked mine and carried the crap outta it. Upgraded to a Sig P220 Carry though. Couldn't pass up the deal I got.

 

Havent even shot this one yet and Im already in love with it lol. Its my first pistol that is "mine" so im excited to get out there and shoot it. Its kinda how i felt when i bought my first shotgun and .270 instead of using dads. somethin special about it bein "Mine"

 

ive been carrying my M&P 9c for a while now and before that i was carrying my M&P40 i picked up a holster from Ryan Grizzle its was a super nice holster i bought it for my 40 but use it for my compact 9 too

Congrats! I used to own a couple S&W semis...not a huge fan of them but to each his own right?

i heard a lot of people sayin they dont like the older SW semis. this MP is Sweeeeetttt! went out and shot it today and was able to keep about a 6" group at 15 yards. I might be in love

 

That's a nice carry gun. I carry a Glock 26. Knowing what I know now, I would have got the M&P9C. At the time, the M&P line had just come out, and they were just too new. Anyway- awesome choice, although I hope you never have to use it for it's intended purpose.

 

How much did u buy it for?? I only shoot. 45 cal only.. Cant go wrg with them. I have a kimber for my ccw

after background check and taxes it was just over 600. i was gonna get the 40 but then did some research on hollow point energy transfer and found that a hollow point 9mm will transfer between 380 and 400 ft lbs and the 40 and 45 transfer 400 to 420. (this can change depending on powder and such, but in general). for the price of ammo in the 9mm vs the 40 or 45 i decided the 9mm was the best for me. but my next pistol will be a full size 1911.

apparently most of the bad press about a 9mm came from the military having to use ball ammo and the slow moving bullets from the 45 do not penetrate through the person as much so they cause more damage. in the civilian market you can use hollow points and the difference IMO is nearly moot.

i have a 9mm, and i just picked up a cannon by comparison in a .45. i own alot of 9mm ammo, and i will begin collecting .45.

i agree, a proper bullet in 9mm is very effective. i just wanted a 45 to really deliver.
